Such a young team.... I hope they don't get easily beaten for the sake of their own self-confidence.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 1:08 pmNine under-18s in the team today alongside Lukas Jensen & Bobby Thomas

That's the one problem. It's good that the regular players are getting first team football and that these lads are getting an opportunity but it is a concern when there are so many of them at one time.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 1:20 pmSuch a young team.... I read that Richardson was injured. He seems to have been out a while. Any news on the injury or is he fit again ?

The club never give out information on injuries to academy players - they just go missing and you assume an injury.

Fenlon on for Chris Conn
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
why only 4 subs to Palace's 5?
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
Wow that seems like an excellent result given the age of our squad

Great result! Well done to those young lads! This u23 team does seem to have a knack of forcing a goal when they need one
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
How strong was the Palace team ?
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
Well done lads! No idea how strong Palace's lineup was but they couldn't have had a younger team than ours (in theory).

Middlesbrough beating Rovers 2-1 after half an hour. That result would end our chance to progress.

We've started playing a very young team, I guess lots of our current U23s will not be offered deals for next season.

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
We have just announced a new deal for Mace Goodridge earlier today. The 3 other usual u23 midfielders are all out on loan along with another 8. Most of them are at EFL clubs.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 8:28 pmWe've started playing a very young team, I guess lots of our current U23s will not be offered deals for next season.

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
And about 6 still at the club not used.
I'd say they are fast-forwarding the younger players.
Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
A few played earlier in the week I think, & some are carrying knocks but this happens every year, they had a bit of a cull at the end of last season. That's why Richardson, Woods & a couple of others got an early chance then, although the last 18 months they do seem to be bringing in some higher potential 17/18 plusses from other clubs too............ I believe that was part of Mike Riggs' remit. Now all he has to do is find some players to compete for a first team starting place..........breath held lol!boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 10:35 pmAnd about 6 still at the club not used.

Those not on loan and not playing are injured or ill.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2020 10:35 pmAnd about 6 still at the club not used.

Re: ARTICLE: Clarets looking to keep Premier League Cup hopes alive
The real sign of improvement will be when we step out of the PDL and join the Premier League development teams. Noticeable difference from the games I have refereed
