The biggest difference is our number of posts per day. You average 4.5 posts per day whereas I average just 0.8 posts over the same time period.

And over 35% of my total posts are to this very thread.

I only post rarely and only to something I feel strongly about whereas you seem to like to stick your oar in to a number of different threads just for the sake of it.

You also seem to be polite at first but then as you start to appear to be losing an argument you become more and more abusive.

You also appear to be in the habit of saying people are lying when you disagree with what they are saying, even though a lot of the opinions are subjective in the first place.
You appear to have made the error of responding to me with your second username. Well done.

Information (NHS guidelines) for those who are interested/confused about primary cause of death and significant co-morbidity conditions (e.g. positive Covid-19 test).

And yes, it is sometimes very difficult to identify what is the exact primary cause and what are significant co-morbidities.

I’d expect a little pettiness from other posters but not you Paul. It is one sentence, when I first heard it from the video I thought it was 2; I then wrote it down for people who can’t “internet” properly and it was one. Sorry about that.

If you didn’t think the 1 in 30 was representative why mention it in the 1st place to back up your argument. If that 30 are over 60 or in the police dont you have younger family or are they all in the police too.

Just asking for a friend
It was mentioned several days ago when you were telling everyone we were all doomed, nothing to do with the 40%,but you obviously didn't read the original post.

Younger ones are teachers, nurses, doctors, special needs assistants, older ones have retired, or just own their house. Hope your friends happy with that.

Hi Zlatan, sorry, I posted very much with my tongue in my cheek. I did wonder whether it was two sentences on the video and only one when you'd transcribed it.

Whether the original was one sentence or two the message is being demonstrated every day, not least by the media who are chosen (do we know how the press are chosen?) to ask questions of the gov't in the daily covid-19 updates.

Nicola Sturgeon got it right yesterday when she asked "can the media listen to their colleagues and avoid asking the same question over and over..." (My words, not a quote.

Hi utc, wow, there are stats on our activity on this board? Do you suggest we start a league table? Maybe we can break it down into "seasons" - at the end of every season we can have a premier poster trophy, golden boot and such like?

How would we pick the teams? Would a transfer window apply? Would anyone be permitted to switch from red to blue?

The possibilities are endless. For those who watched "Quiz" last night, maybe we could make it exciting. ;) ;) ;) :D :) :( :( :(

Covid compensation

Post by jackmiggins » Tue Apr 14, 2020 1:04 pm

Just wondering what thoughts are with regard securing financial recompense from China for each affected nation (which, I guess, will be every nation).
Are we likely to ‘man up’ and push for this? Are we clever enough to secure a deal, or could this lead to conflict?
Personally think we would have to cripple them quickly, probably by military means?

Deaths in November-December were 3,661 (4%) above average, the corresponding figures for January-February were 4,105 (3.7%) below average, resulting in a net "gain" of 444 lives over 18 weeks. About 3 a day over the whole country. About 2 per hospital over the whole 4 month period. Below average. But even if it was the other way round, it's hardly "unprecedented pressure".

Some graphs that may be relevant (I'm dipping in and out of this)

My wife is returning to Woodside next week ,she retired last year, to fill odd shifts where there is shortage of careers.
Been speaking to the staff at Woodside about getting some protective visors, they're fine for aprons, gloves and face masks. The good news is theyve been inundated with offers for them. My lad and his partner have been knocking em out while they've been in lock down, rang to offer 40 of the 150 theyve done but said they were fine. So as far as I'm aware, you're misses should be fine for PPE. Tell her thanks for her help, she could be looking after my mum!

You’re fully aware that China have systematically bought and now own vast amounts of debt from around the globe. This includes the USA and Great Britain. War with China is a non starter, they would bankrupt us long before we even thought the notion through fully.

Literally just off the phone with my mum just now. Theyve been outside in the sun this afternoon. First time in months, can you imagine that! Apparently a belated visit from the easter bunny - through the window! They put me speaker fone and my mum and a couple of her friends spoke. They seem in good spirits and to be honest , they're not fully aware of the scale and relative danger outside. My mums fine mentally, thankfully, "I still have all my chairs at home " as she likes to remind us. But she can't get her head round the distancing and queues outside supermarkets, and pubs, restaurants, parks sports centres cinemas, etc closing. Ignorance is bliss I suppose eh?

Anyway, like I say, if your mrs feels they're short, certainly on those perspex visor style things, like Lowbank claret was knocking out. Let me know and I'll try and get some for her and the team.

You’re fully aware that China have systematically bought and now own vast amounts of debt from around the globe. This includes the USA and Great Britain. War with China is a non starter, they would bankrupt us long before we even thought the notion through fully.
Not sure that is relevant, as any agreements would be null and void.

If you're paulatky as well, just say so now and save us the heartache.

Otherwise, null and void.... because for why???

Can’t believe I’m biting....

I think you’ll need to revise your views on world economics. Wars are won with money...

China would call in those debts/loans, we would default, our credit rating would drop, we’d never be able to borrow money again. You can’t rewrite

Your solution involves a collective world default, and annexing 1 billion people?

China financially own the west.

That’s not actually the case though is it? If the U.K. turned around and said “we’re defaulting on that debt” there’s not a lot the Chinese could do about it.

Wars are won by defeating the enemy. As the North Vietnamese showed the world’s richest nation back in the ‘70s.

Can't believe I'm in total agreement with Andrew but he is right, US & Europe default on debt and appropriate assets/accounts would not be beyond reality if you're really thinking about war, Plus Vietnam Vs USA was another very good example, however it's not going to happen, is it, war I mean.

I don't think Paul's coming back if you read this morning's posts...

I think we know who his friend was as well.
I hope not, we can well do without his level bellendery.
