How could they ‘assist’ with childcare from a different building? Think before posting!

According to the Guardian Cummings isn't popular at all with the rank and file Tory MPs. I also get the feeling the older, traditional Tory voters won't be that keen on him. Will be interesting to see how the likes of the Daily Mail go tomorrow.

Another, separate house, just the 3 of them.... Sorry if it wasn't clear enough.
I'm not convinced that you are correct here. I believe that Mr and Mrs Cummings and their son actually stayed in his parents' house (while his parents were there)....but self-isolating in part of that house. No matter how good the isolation there must have been an increased risk that his parents would catch the virus given that Mrs C. was known to be suffering.

‘Coronavirus scare’??
Probably not how the thousands of families who have lost loved ones would describe it.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz - you make no sense whatsoever. Bullying doesn’t work with me, and I won’t ‘clear off’ At best, you have been acting as an ‘advocate’ on this thread for your own perverse enjoyment. There is NO defensible argument for your blue bed buddy here. Please expand on your embarrassing explanation to exonerate this faecial person.

Clearly the coronavirus scare is coming to an end. All the BBC, together with the usual suspects on this thread, can find to get excited about is Cummings. Other than the BBC who report, as one of their headlines, that their Medical Guy has been tested as having had the virus without knowing it. A slow news day other than sadly quit a few people died.
And more will die unless it is very rapidly made clear that we must all (including political advisers) continue to observe the rules.

Ferguson mixed with someone outside his family.

Calderwood made multiple, unnecessary trips to her second home.

You could argue that Cummings’ trip was necessary, under the circumstances, and the actions of a responsible parent. I think I’d do the same under the circumstances.

I’ll change my opinion if there’s some footage of him at a filling station, etc.
Do you think a 4 year old child can travel 260 miles without stopping for the toilet. I don’t think so.

Yes that's correct but if the public tuning in to the news observe Dominic Cummings seemingly flouting the rules without any purgatory, then why should they comply.

That'll be the general feeling.

Maybe the rules should have been made clearer from the get go,throughout this whole lockdown period the communications from number 10 have been abysmal.

Just going off what I heard, that it was a house separate from any other and they never came in contact with his parents during isolation

Which "mates" are you talking about, craven ? You don't have to support any particular party to have contempt for this present government treating its people like morons. They seem to be staggering from one home-made crisis to the next.

You do, however, have to support a particular party to find an excuse, any excuse, for Cummings' behaviour. Or be blind. Or stupid. Or both.

Find it very, very odd that the press didn’t know the location of such a high-profile person as Cummings. Not like they don’t know where he lives in London.

I am completely apolitical. I believe whichever party had been in power that mistakes would have been made, mainly because no one had any experience of this sort of thing. I haven't seen the Government treating "its" people like morons. I have seen many people jumping onto a forum supposedly associated with football to espouse clearly political opinions of all types. And frankly it pissez me off to the extent I have avoided this site for a bit now.
And I guess quite a few others when you see this is the most active post and it is overwhelmed by a handful of people. I hope you are all happy, me I have just about had enough of it all.

We don't know whether he came into contact with his folks or not. Doesn't really matter. They set the rules and they should lead. Its called leadership and its been lacking. If my boss tells me not to do something and he goes and does it he's hardly going to gain much respect. I don't give two hoots about what the colour of the party in power are. We've been consistantly lied to, leadership has been woefully inept. Chuff me, I just want our leaders to get it right and give folk some respect, equality, openess and honesty. Its painful to watch how they're winging it. Jeez.

Apologies, just searched again and it appeared the Financial Times were the ones who said it.

Thought it had come from a government briefing but on second viewing that is not clear.

Clearly there are ‘those’ that believe they should protect their political party on here! I gave up on politics many years ago, so have no axe to grind. SHAME on you.
I don't have a political party i'll vote as i see fit at the time, last couple of elections I've voted Tory, but i could easily switch to Labour or another next time, although i vote i'm realistic and don't expect miracles, but what i can't abide is rank hypocrisy and that's what's being displayed by Cummings and the government.

How anybody can defend his actions with a straight face baffles me,but there's some so tribal on here that they'll defend either side even when it's clear they're in the wrong.

I wouldn't mind but Cummings isn't even elected,so he can't be held accountable by the public, however the government can,and they'd be wise to be aware of that, the longer this drags on the worse the government look.

According to the Guardian Cummings isn't popular at all with the rank and file Tory MPs. I also get the feeling the older, traditional Tory voters won't be that keen on him. Will be interesting to see how the likes of the Daily Mail go tomorrow.
Said before, and will say it again, there will be plenty of Tories who hate him because of the influence he holds. Their are plenty of jealous people about in life.

Daily Mail will tear in to Cummings - no doubt. They’re not pro-Tory as people suggest. They’ll do anything to sell papers or get clicks.

My speakers need putting on charge, so not heard this yet. Is it worth a listen? A friend posted it who doesn't believe it's a dangerous virus and there's no need to ever self-isolate.
