West Ham - Sky's apology and Oliver Holt's thoughts

Post by ClaretTony » Mon Feb 10, 2020 2:33 pm

A week ago yesterday, Sky were forced to publicly apologise to the owners of West Ham (Sullivan, Gold & Brady) ahead of Sunday Supplement. Geoff Shreeves read it out and looked very uncomfortable doing so and I'm not sure what had been said on the programme in the previous week to warrant it other than maybe to suggest the club those three are running is something of a car crash.

Oliver Holt - Daily Mail, and even better known for being Emily Bishop's son, has had his say on it all.

Now, I may be wrong, but there appears to be a difference of opinion between Mr Holt and the West Ham hierarchy as to who is responsible for the club's current demise

What have I just read, what a waste of 3 minutes of my time.

Made zero sense to me.
I must have missed something as to why Holt has written this.

It has come about because of this in relation to a throwaway Matt Law comment on the Sunday supplement - Matt Law has been ripping into West Ham in his day job at the Telegraph for quite some time

Sky had originally tweeted the clip but it has since been taken down

the Sky apology

Hadn't seen it the previous week but clearly someone had said something and Mrs Peschisolido jumped in with both feet alongside the Dildo Twins to force the apology.

I'm not often in agreement with a Stockport fan but on this occasion I agree totally with Holt, brilliant from him.

Posted both the apology and the Holt article on another thread as they first appeared along with a comment along the lines that the length and substance of sky's GSB written apology was so close to parody that they would be torn apart for it - they were and very well done it was too - There have been a few articles in the last week that also question the facts as presented in that original apology

Excellent.

What are the chances we'll be seeing protests at the ground in April akin to the ones they had when we beat them 3-0?

They had one about three weeks ago. There is another planned but I don't think it's for our game. I was recently speaking to one of our directors about the protests at the 3-0 win there. He was virtually in the firing line and said it was frightening. We were protected behind the goal and I said it was funny.

A very surreal and funny game. Thought they'd been the better team in the first half too. Was bracing myself for trouble after the game but thankfully we avoided any ire

Demise? What could you possibly mean, demise?
Youll need to apologise to the double dildos and baroness baggins now or face a lifetime ban from the field of creams.

Had the West Ham hierarchy kept their own counsel and not put Sky in a position whereby they had to issue a somewhat long-winded and patronising apology, I doubt the comments would have even registered with many people, if any, outside of the West Ham fanbase. I watch Sunday Supplement every week and I could barely remember the comments made. However, they have now drawn attention, and indeed ridicule, from many quarters including their own fans and have thrust these comments into the limelight.

A classic example of ‘be careful what you wish for’. And another underlining of how fortunate we are to have the current board and management team behaving as, in Sean Dyche’s own words, custodians of Burnley Football Club.

Funny how the West Ham chairmen are ridiculed for their porn industry past.

I dare say I and many others on here have willingly contributed to their wealth.

I must applaud Messrs Gold and Sullivan and the Baroness Brady for sticking up for themselves and demanding apology after apology.

How could there be any doubt about their incisive steering of the bubble machine through the pathways of East London?

Their random, grab-all of any player (although they allegedly purport to avoid Africans in recent times) can only lead to a - big squad. A big team must have a big squad...mustn't it?

The threesome have also porned (not sure of spelling) their combined knowledge of football, time and again, when it comes to the appointment of managers. No matter the cost, change is as good as....a new sex buddy.

Sometimes, when such brave people aim high, their dreams cum true. More often than not, spending hard and fast can result in ones load being shot too early. Although Messrs Gold and Sullivan and Baroness Brady have been oft accused of taking this position, they have consistently been able to soon produce a further load to shoot.

An apology is certainly due, should anyone think that taking a team from their historical home and placing them in a stadium designed (and still used) for an alternative sport is not foresight.
They offer West Ham United Athletic Football Club.

Yeah. Rather than getting her recent £250,000 pay rise from the club.
