Wood is a huge loss given the conditions. Just the man you want with the wind whipping the ball around.

4 players booked now. Could cost us as the game goes on.
Hendrick and Mee have been booked, who are the other two?

In the last couple of minutes there it looked as though Vydra was knackered! Or lazy. Two times he laboured closing down, so I hope he gets a sharp reminder that this is his golden chance at half time. On the flipside without Wood, I hope we find a way to feed Vydra (and Jay) into feet as well as the channels. They're both good footballers on the deck so let's use it. Southampton better side but they look like they could concede, let's get all 3 boys!

Poor by us so far. Vydra looks uninterested. Hope he proves me wrong. Would have brought Brownhill on not Vydra and left Jay up front in a 4-5-1. We are over run in midfield. Needed ht to sort it out. Saints looking decent with plenty of pace. Not seeing us getting anything unless SD can reorganize us.

I think we have found it hard to cope with Wood going off , now i am sure Sean will come up with a plan at HT " to find a way " as he likes to say .

Yes hindsight is great ,but I would of put brownhill in a midfield five and play jay up top, getting overrun in midfield and having vydra up top doesn't relieve any pressure, haven't a clue what is strengths are?

Bring Brownhill on (it'll end his stint here, but probably for Vydra) push Dwight and Hendrick further forward to stop their full backs bombing on. Would be my play. But hey, i'm no football manager... (switches back to FM2020)...

Commentators on TV commented on Vydra's lack of pressing has been costing us compared to Soton. Looks right now like he's given up on us, let's hope that's not the case.

It's moments like this when it's important a player feels valued. I'm sure people will disagree but if he was given more of a chance by Dyche I don't think he'd be playing this way.

The counter argument is that he should be motivated anyway.. But you only need to look a Gibson to get any idea how he feels.

Dropping Jay back a bit is probably the best we can do.

We can't really replace Vydra with Brownhill, but given the conditions ( along with the way they are tying up Mc Neill ) an extra midfiedler in front of Cork and Westwood might have been better than replacing Wood with a ball playing striker.

No. They were both booked. Cork for the scissors tackle on Ward-P & McNeil for his petulant tap on Walker-P.

Ball over top from Westwood, Hendrick off side but was Vydra? If H had stopped he would have been through?

We all want to see him but since woods injury it's become more unlikely.

He can play right midfield like Hendrick but I really hope he gets his chance in the middle instead.

Vydra now has a chance. Yo do not top score in the Championship if you don’t know where the net is. We need to play the ball to feet!

I actually thought we did ok 1st half tbf. The wind is horrible and can clearly be heard over the microphones.

Hopefully the wind will help us a little second half

first thoughts on 2nd half, is Vydra now playing the No..10 / AM role, looked to be dropping deeper when we don't have the ball.

The way refs interpret penalty claims is wrong. You get fouled in the box, doesn't matter where it is it's a penalty.

The way it's interpreted is it's only a penalty if you are near the goal :/
