It’s not the point though as you are marking him lower because you think he gave away a goal which he very clearly didn’t.
Is there anyone else in the media who has said it was anything else but a very good goal rather than a burnley mistake ?
It’s not even clear that Mee could have booted it up the pitch and Ings has scored that goal out of virtually nothing.
It was an excellent goal, but iam not the only one on here suggesting mee could have done better most goals stem from some sort of mistake, its the nature of the game. Don't know how the markings are done, but if you start at 10, I'd knock 2 off. If you start at 0, it wouldn't reach 9....

All I can see is one other person saying it was a “slight” error for the goal (which I don’t agree with) and that poster scored Mee a 9.
Mee and Tarks were both outstanding today.

Assume you are referring to my marks. The reason I said a `slight error` was because he got his challenge in but the ball got away and Ings eventually scored. It was certainly more of a good goal by Ings rather than a blatant error by Mee. Otherwise I thought our central defenders were brilliant (again) and probably the difference between the teams ( other than Vydras worldy of course) UTC

I didn't see the game so can't score, but I'm giving a 10 to Vydra because of his commitment, attitude, professionalism, work rate & smile on his face when he scored.
A goal of pure joy.

Yep and having watched Ings goal a few times now I cannot see how it can be described as a mistake. He actually stretched to cut the first pass out which he anticipates well....if anything he deserves an extra point for that !!

Ings back to his best good goal but a better goal from Vydra that should do his confidence the world of good .

Firstly, well done all of you who attended. You got your just reward and the fact it came from a Vydra worldie must have made it all worthwhile.
Im sure even a few ticket holders didn’t bother in the end with the forecast.

If you were being ultra critical you could say when Cork got in his way a bit Mee had the chance to take everything, including his own team mate. But to lunge in there would have been stupid really, Ings still had a hell of a lot to do when he picked the ball up. Very harsh to put any blame on Ben Mee for that one.
From the away end it looked as though Mee might be at fault but having seen it again it’s definitely not the case.

Thought we played so well today in those conditions and I’ve given Mee the man of the match just ahead of Tarkowski.

Superb second half performance that just about summed up Dyche’s Burnley. Grit, determination, organisation, pressing and moments of real quality.

I only saw the goal in real time. If it wasn’t an error by Mee then it was an error by me not Mee haha. Still think Tarks edged him for mom but both were superb and it was a great win. One thing I really liked was the change of tactics at ht that eventually won us the game. Oh and THAT goal gets better every time I watch it

Awful conditions but a surprisingly easy journey there and back topped off by a fantastic result.

It won’t happen but I think Dyche could evolve the way we play by starting with Jay and Vydra up front, some great signs of a good partnership evolving yesterday.

Pope 7 big save at the end, no chance with goal.
Taylor 8 got in some really great overlapping positions, created a great chance
Mee 8 slight error for goal, but otherwise excellent
Tarks 8 a couple of whoosh passes astray, but as above
Bardsley 7 solid
McNeil 6 very quiet again. Fades regularly last 20, and makes errors
Westwood 8
Cork 7 slight mix up for goal but steady
Hendrick 7 steady, nothing flashy caught out a couple of times, but covered ground
Jay 6
Wood 5 looked off it early, hooe it's not a long lay off
Vydra 8 , goal worthy of winning any game, real class. Had a couple if nearly too, which I'm sure will improve with minutes and confidence.

Having now seen it again, his first touch should have been a big boot instead of trying to play it out. As CT said on first looks it was a mistake, and that's all I had to go on, I'll refine my observation to.. Could have done better.
By the way, the media outlets you refer to, none gave him a 9.

He didn’t try and play it out - he cuts out a pass he anticipates and he’s stretching.
I never said he was an 8 or a 9 or a 2....I simply said it was not a mistake for the goal. Glad you now agree.

And my original point was that only on here would he get a 9, a point that's been proved
I don't think he was stretching on his first touch, second maybe, but small margins, and we won, so let's agree to disagree
