Overseas TV rights
Seeing as any increase in overseas rights is to be shared out by league position i've been doing some digging, it seems that we will get 1.19m per place on top of the equal share 43.1m.
Based on finishing 10th, this could be an additional 11.9m, plus 5.95m extra from the domestic merit payment for finishing 10th instead of 15th, could be a total tv payment of 126m, we got 119m when we finished 7th for comparison.

Re: Overseas TV rights
Do we get any more for being on more than 10 times this season.
I also think that the additional places also increase players bonus so not all of it increases the coffers.

Could increase SDs summer transfer budget from next to nothing to slightly more than next to nothing ( insert smiley face as appropriate here )

yes, we are booked for 12 games so far, that's about 2.4m more than the standard 10 game payment.clarethomer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 11:40 amDo we get any more for being on more than 10 times this season.

A few million of that will go on player bonuses which are also tied to our league finish.

It’s not ten games any longer. That number has now increased because of the higher number of games overall.clarethomer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 11:40 amDo we get any more for being on more than 10 times this season.

Re: Overseas TV rights
Has the per place come down to £1.19m or is it a typo? Last season it was £1.9m

The 1.19m is for the new per place formula for overseas rights.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:32 pmHas the per place come down to £1.19m or is it a typo? Last season it was £1.9m

Re: Overseas TV rights
The fact is no one knows what the breakdown is because the Premier league in their infinite wisdom have not declared what it will be publicly - it's members (the clubs) know though. I suspect that those who are entitled to Parachute payments this season in the Championship know as well - but beyond that it is very difficult to give a reasonably accurate estimation. What is strongly speculated from the revised formula is that the bottom 6 a likely to get less/be no better off than under the last cycle

Re: Overseas TV rights
It's just the increase in overseas rights that are to change to league finishing position, if it were shared out equally it would be 12.5m each, sharing it by league position means 25m for top, and 1.19m for bottomChester Perry wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:41 pmThe fact is no one knows what the breakdown is because the Premier league in their infinite wisdom have not declared what it will be publicly - it's members (the clubs) know though. There is more to consider than that:claretandy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 1:57 pmIt's just the increase in overseas rights that are to change to league finishing position, if it were shared out equally it would be 12.5m each, sharing it by league position means 25m for top, and 1.19m for bottom
- the domestic rights have dropped in value
- We do not know the operational costs of the Premier League
- We do not know other outgoings- investments, charity etc
- We do not know what solidarity and Parachute Payments are to the EFL (The Times speculated back in August but neither the EFL or Premier League have confirmed those figures)
