Seen this before. It’s very emotional. Had teachers like that myself that 25 years since we joined, still in touch with now.
There could be a similar story to this with Jay. As his form teacher is still in touch with him and is an absolute legend of a man. (Geoff Ashworth - sure many off here will know him from Barden and / or Calder Vale.)

Absolutely. Big influence for me growing up. And even now often think about a lot of the stuff he taught me. And regularly see him and occasional have a curry with him. Sure they don’t make teachers like that now.

I am not in the education field but I do know of a few who are that are driven the same way and have a wondrous influence on the lives of those they teach.
