Have You Revised Your Three For The Drop?

After the weekends games, Toon and Villa (and inevitably) Norwich all losing, I think Villa will
go. West Hams run in is horrendous, almost all the top teams to play away, they're playing awful as well.
I think Pearson will just about drag Watford over the line.

West Ham
Villa
Norwich

for me.

Bournemouth, Villa, West Ham seem to have the hardest remaining games, in that order.

Just look at Bournemouth's.

They have Newcastle and Southampton at home, but other than that, it's tough games all the way.

You're right Frank about Bournemouth, but I just think they've still got some fight
left in them (hope its not on display next weekend) whereas the Hammers don't
seem to be able to string two passes together. Moyes has a Herculean task on his hands.

Norwich, Villa, Bournemouth are the faves to go down.

I think it'll be Norwich, West Ham and one other. Also gonna go with it going down to the final day.

Hoping it’s Norwich(sadly), West Ham(gladly) and Watford(gladly, owners) but Villa keep finding ways to lose games and B’mouth have had a horrendous season for injuries and might be lacking confidence.

I revise mine every week I think but the only one I'm really certain of is Norwich. Having watched Villa defend yesterday I think they could be likely candidates and I'd think the other one will be between Watford and West Ham.

That's this week though, I might have a different view next Monday.

Newcastle have some excellent fixtures to pick up points. I think they'll be fine.

If Villa go down and win the League Cup, does that mean a Championship team playing in Europa League?

Sticking with what I had on the "relegation odds" thread about 4 weeks ago:

Think it'll be: Norwich, Bournemouth, Villa

I'd prefer it to be: Norwich, BHA and either Villa or WHU. Brighton aren't in the bookies 5 favourites (in fact 6th) but on a very bad run and, though Brighton is a good trip for me, I'm not fond of the club.

Norwich(obvs!).
Villa.
West Ham/Watford/Bournemouth/Brighton.
Brighton for preference, with us sending them down on the last day.

Yeah Brighton, double hat trick for Jay to send them back, last one a pen in the 6th minute of stopages when Tarky back heels Murray in the nuts and throws himself down like a girly (a yard outside the box).

I live among Hammers and I try to console them by pointing out they’ll have the best stadium in the Championship.

Would have thought so. It was with Birmingham City.

I don’t know why so many people are rooting for Bournemouth to go down. It’s a nice little ground, they give the away supporters decent seats at the side of the pitch as opposed to behind the goal and, beside all that, it’s easy for for me to get there as I live here.

Norwich look doomed already (although they did look decent going forward against Liverpool).
West Ham (I hope) because not only are they playing badly their fixtures are horrible (lose next 2 for sure).
Next?
Still think Watford have a lot to do but they have the Pearson factor - love him or loathe him he gets things done.
Villa are pretty awful but they have shown the ability to drag out a result (us?).
Could see Southampton getting dragged in going off their defence on Saturday.
Brighton? Safe.
Bournemouth? Think they will rally (after Saturday of course).
Newcastle? Who actually thinks they are in danger? I certainly don't, they are only 3 behind us and play us at home soon, win that and they might be no worse than us.

Norwich/West ham/Villa. Maybe. :D :D :D

Would like Watford, Villa & Brighton.
More likely to be Norwich, Villa & West Ham
Don’t really care as long a Villa are one of them. Will be interested to see how they deal with FFP, also looking to next season they will just spend their way out of a relegation scrap

Norwich (sadly), Villa (don’t care) and West Ham (easy to get to for me but would laugh at Moyes taking another club down).

It’s Norwich and two from Watford, West Ham and Bournemouth for me, as all three have horrendous run ins.
I’d prefer the other two relegation spots to be West Ham and Brighton tho

Get to 40 points, then it's get the popcorn out time

If any of:
Watford
Villa
Brighton
west Ham

go down, it will be hilarious, as their fans are all annoying.

But if we had the chance to Send Brighton down on the last day of the season, I'd take that glorious opportunity over everything else

Norwich, but they deserve to bounce back for another try for doing things right for the long term. One or two players who could fit our structure and budget.

Clearly next, West Ham. Smug Directors and Karen Brady. How can they spend so much money and still have Mark Noble as their best performer.
Took the club away from its roots and community. Arrogant fans. The deal which took over the Olympic stadium was on the face of it unfair to the rest.

Would also prefer Villa, Partly because of the Heaton and Drinkwater aftertaste. They are also truly a sleeping giant and the owner Sawiris is the best President Egypt never had. Impressive businessman.

Though looks to be a right old scrap with even Norwich still fighting hard . Sending Brighton down on the last day would be a beautiful thing indeed

Any 3 from bottom 10 BUT the present bottom three must be favourites
However I think Watford will pull out of it
Norwich most unlikely WHU have such a tough schedule that unless they get a good couple of results soon thenMoyes has a difficult task as their heads will have really dropped
A team folk seem to have ignored is Palace who are not getting results and it is the case that often a team plummets at this time into the quicksands of relegation and cannot escape ( just hope it isn’t us)
IMO we need at least two points from Bournemouth and Newcastle games. Three points on Saturday and we should be pretty much home and dry

Apart from the post above yours mate from mdd2 - he reckons any 3 from the bottom ten - we are 11th so by default he must reckon we are still in danger.

My 3 are Norwich. Bournemouth ( if we beat them ) and West Ham or Watford. Think Villa will survive. My outsiders are Brighton

I wouldn't exclude Brighton. Nice tippy-tappy football under the new manager, who, like Hughton before him comes over as a decent bloke, but they've very little cutting edge.

Villa by contrast are excellent going forward but possibly as bad as Norwich defensively. As far as West Ham is concerned, I suspect it depends which West Ham turns up from now to the end of the season. How many of their foreign mercenaries are up for the fight?

I think Watford under Pearson have the players and enough nowse to get the points required and Bournemouth have the knack of going from awful to suddenly blowing teams away.

For me Norwich, Villa and Brighton.

Form table (going off the last 5-6 games), has us in 6th place. Brighton are second from bottom.

But Crystal Palace are bottom! However, they have some very kind fixtures coming up, where I think they'll be picking up more than enough to stay up.

It leaves anybody from Brighton downwards - Brighton could very well go the next 6 games without picking up a single point.

have consistently said Watford wont go down but they are leaving it late to pull away, they must be feeling it now, the fans that is.

Norwich
Villa
Brighton (but definitely could be West Ham who I really did not think would be in the mix)

I've listed the bottom 3 for various instances:

Current bottom 3 teams
Current 3 teams bottom on Form
3 teams with the most difficult remaining fixtures
Bookies 3 favourites to go down

Current bottom 3:
West Ham
Watford
Norwich

Current teams bottom on Form:
Norwich
Brighton
Crystal Palace

The 3 teams with the hardest remaining fixtures (hardest is bottom):
West Ham
Aston Villa
Bournemouth

Bookies 3 favourites to go down (most likely is bottom):
Bournemouth
Aston Villa
Norwich

Norwich are rock bottom and aren't in any form to get them out of the bottom 3 any time soon. They do have some winnable games, but they are 6 (7 with GD) points back, so it'll be too difficult.
Villa and Bournemouth are both favourites to go down with the bookies AND have the hardest remaining fixtures.
West Ham also have one of the hardest remaining set of fixtures and are currently in the bottom 3 (game in hand vs City)

Based on that, Norwich, Villa, Bournemouth for the chopping board I agree is the most likely. West Ham to escape, just.

The next 4 games will be interesting. West Ham have City(a), Liverpool(a), SOUTHAMPTON(h) and Arsenal(a)

Back in mid-December, Big Vince suggested these three and I agreed.

Aston Villa
Norwich
Watford

No reason to change my mind now.

West Ham should be safe but there'd be no tears from me if they went

There’s still a chance I could be right with those selections, but Bournemouth and West Ham have a real struggle on their hands, and one could well replace Watford in the bottom three

Norwich, West Ham and Villa would be nice. wouldn't mind one bit if Brighton pinched one of the spots
but the 60,000 London Stadium hosting Rotherham and Wycombe and the FFP ripping into Villa could be
quite entertaining ..

West Ham have some very difficult games coming up. Away to Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man United and Spurs. Chelsea, us and Wolves at home. Can't see them getting much from these games which leaves 6 games to get enough points to keep them up. I can see them in serious trouble and needing something from the Villa game.
