The points system is flawed which as been mentioned many times.....what about the younger supporters who are the future?
I’ve said this before, suggesting being able to “pool” points with friends & family for kids purchases but got told it was “tough luck” that they didn’t have enough points

I also dont do online...or have a credit card but I'm fortunate that I can get to to the ticket office in person. I'm also a season ticket holder and wait for general sale. And read the small print as to the duration of the sale as one would.then I make my my purchase. The points system is flawed which as been mentioned many times.....what about the younger supporters who are the future?
Surely games like this, and the numerous others that we don’t sell out would be the perfect opportunity to take the kids to and accumulate points in the process.

Most of our away games make it to general sale these days. The way some people go on you'd think getting away tickets was impossible.

What issues do you have? I buy every away and cup ticket online and never had an issue with it as far as I know
I understand that your ticket acquisition went particularly well for Newcastle damo! ;)

How? Does it help find babysitter's, bring forward pay day, or give people time off work ?

Theres no issues with the online system it works perfectly fine, ive never seen anyone else on here highlight a problem with it either. How did you get your Newcastle ticket out of interest?

I do get your point but not sure just what it's got to do with sending tickets back to City? Do you expect Burnley to get you a babysitter etc or check with you if you've managed to sort one before deciding to send them back?

He didn’t have enough points to get one, even though he’s been to every away game this season. Luckily someone sorted him out. You know that though.

There were people at the Newcastle game who don’t even have season tickets and had just used other people’s numbers to go for a day out.

Ive backed the decision to send the Man City tickets back, but examples like above shows there is a way to go with our system.

Was it you or someone else who said two days were long enough for anyone to decide if they wanted a ticket, and if they couldn't afford it use a credit card? All I am saying is some need longer to find out if they can go than others do, we are ten people who have had season tickets for over 50 yrs all with a life outside of Burnley football club, we have work, kids, grandkids, wives, etc. You should know better than anyone not everybody buys tickets on the first day of sale.....I wonder why that is?

If you were a proper fan you'd get a credit card and pay for numerous tickets 6 weeks in advance

No it wasn't me who mentioned the 2 days but the 2 days I think referred to how long they had been on General Sale. If someone was considering going to the game the selling arrangements were publicised about a week before they went on sale at 6000 points, with the General Sale then due to start 6 days later. Surely any babysitting requirements etc could have been sorted out once selling details had been publicised, so there was about 12 days to get these sorted out before the General Sale. Tickets could then have been purchased right at the start of the General Sale. As to the credit card comment that was made in response to comments that people didn't get paid until the end of the month and I was just pointing out that tickets could be purchased by other means as an alternative to cash and I do appreciate that not everyone has a credit card.

I think the club should consult with Grumps before taking each away ticket allocation to enquire as to upcoming weddings, babysitter availability and his next pay day. In the extremely unlikely event that any of the aforementioned factors may prevent his attendance the club could apply to the Premier League to move the fixture.

Online ticket system is a joke always an issue so never use it. Just back off holiday to see that the tickets are sold out, was going to get one Saturday before the game. Didn't think it would be a problem with the week remaining to buy them. Well done BFC again
Online system is anything but a joke, it works perfectly and there are more and more people using it.

I like the online system as it's very convenient and easy to use. However, it does have some issues such as when trying to buy a ticket for myself for home cup games it automatically put tickets in the basket for all those in my Friends and Family. I then have to individually remove each of the others from the basket by clicking on the X for every person, which can be quite time consuming and sometimes before finishing removing the unwanted ones the system then times out (which is very frustrating!). It would be far better if the option was given to just have a tick box for those you want to purchase tickets for (so if you only wanted to purchase for yourself you would just tick your box). The other issue, which again I find frustrating, is that if you try to purchase a ticket at 6000/4000/2000 points for someone and it turns out that they haven't got the required points, it tells you that they have insufficient points but doesn't tell you just how many they have! Other than that it's fine.

Look, somebody said two days were enough,ok? Iam pointing out that for various reasons people might not know they can go, shall we say a week before the game?
Which bit of that are you struggling with, that makes you so arsey? For your information , personally I can go when I want, the others in our group with young kids, rely on others for a lift etc, aren't that fortunate,so get down off your extremely high horse and appreciate others have commitments away from Burnley football club which mean they cannot buy tickets two weeks before a game. Now is that clear enough for you? Absolutely no need for your post other than trying to be clever.

I was joking. Chill out. Those who are unfortunate to not be able to book in advance are always going to be more likely to miss out. This situation is the same as if we had sold out the entire allocation. Communication could have been better in this instance but the club shouldn't be buying your ticket and 1500 others in the hope that you decide to buy one from them. You, and everyone else had plenty of time to make arrangements for the purchasing of the tickets and then had ample time (more than 2 days although 2 days is sufficient) to make that purchase.

The old,I was only joking excuse :D
It's more than a week off the game. When I was working I could only ask for days off a week before the game, so no I wouldn't have had sufficient time
Three of the people who travel with us have very young children and can only find out if childcare is available perhaps a week before, one of these drives three others,so they can't buy tickets until they know if they have a lift, can you grasp now how not everybody is in the position that you think they are?

I can grasp it perfectly. My point is that people who can’t book until the last minute will always be likely to miss out on events with limited availability. In this respect your scenario is no different than a game selling out with 2 weeks to go.

You could have bought your tickets and taken a risk that you couldn’t attend, but of course you don’t want to do that, understandably. So why should the club buy your tickets and hope that you buy them off them?

Blackburn_claret - What problems are you having with the online ticket system?
Numerous times the sites been down, timed out when i am purchasing then have to start over again. I find it very frustrating at times so have gone bacl to doing it the original way at the club shop which is usually not a problem. Was on holiday and unfortunately missed out on a ticket for next week because i planned to get them before the game on saturday like previously mentioned. Hopefully a ticket will become available. Thanks for your previous reply and to see im not the only one who as had a problem with it

Up till this game it's never been a problem, mainly because tickets don't normally go off sale a fortnight before the game!!

Theres no issues with the online system it works perfectly fine, ive never seen anyone else on here highlight a problem with it either. How did you get your Newcastle ticket out of interest?
I was unable to get one as they sold out at the 4000+ point mark, fortunately a few kind people thought of me as I haven't missed an away game this season and a chap who could no longer attend offered me his ticket. But you know that I'm sure.

Considering how these tickets went to general sale and anyone could purchase online, it will be interesting to see what the relevance of Newcastle is

The good old "super fan" comment is always amusing when used to try and mock someone for going to games.

What is the opposite of super fan for those who cherry pick 2-3 games a season and then moan when the ticket policy doesn't suit them ?

change your browser - I had numerous problems with IE using the ticketing page (no longer a problem), and changed to Chrome. Generally it's better, but with things like this I always try another browser first

Online ticket system is a joke always an issue so never use it. Just back off holiday to see that the tickets are sold out, was going to get one Saturday before the game. Didn't think it would be a problem with the week remaining to buy them. Well done BFC again
Iv'e never ever had an issue buying tickets online.

I'm not going City as funds are a bit tight but if I would have wanted a ticket I would have got one.

EVERYONE had enough time and chance to get one for this game, if you didn't then you only have yourself to blame, surely?

And still people don't understand that some cannot commit to going a fortnight away, amazing.
