Anyone know the normal selling order at City? Got a feeling its lower tier first then work back?

Discussion in Burnley ticket office..... Now then, When's the worst time we can put these tickets on sale to annoy our loyal fans who turn up to the games...

Lower, middle, top. This is determined by Man City.

I've queried these ludicrous sale times often but been told that I can always buy on Sunday/Monday - so what's the problem?

No real problem but I would like someone to explain the logic of tickets going on sale while majority of customers are trying to get out of the stadium!

That's correct, as there's no way that the tickets will sell out at 6000 points anyway! So for those with 6000 there's plenty of time over the weekend to get them.

it might well be that Newcastle away on a Saturday afternoon... a far more winnable game, against a team closer to us in the league, is slightly more attractive that the potential drubbing at the airport lounge.
Just a thought

Jesus christ some people just don't get it do they

I've been to Man City plenty of times and seen us 99% of that time get stuffed

I've never been to Newcastle because we've not played them for 40+ year's on a weekend and my job does not allow time off midweek

I certainly won't be going to City to see us lose 5 or 6 nil again because it's now lost it's appeal to me even with it being a game about 25 miles away.

One is not the same draw as the other to me

We played them on New Year’s Day but thats convenient to ignore as it doesn’t fit your rhetoric.

If if you seriously think I’m the one not getting it then you need to give your head a wobble.

People still not getting their head around if games like man untied and Everton away don’t sell out then the club are within their rights not to take bigger allocations at other away games.

Great stuff.

Most of us on here know which games will be popular, and guess within a hundred or so how many tickets we will sell, why those responsible at the club for requesting the allocation seem unable to at times, baffles me.

I didn't ignore we played on new years day I thought by saying I can't do midweek games you could of worked out I couldn't do new years day because "IT WAS MIDWEEK" or I don't have an ordinary job, I've worked Christmas day in the past, I do sometimes get bank holidays off and part of term time's when school's close but not all the time if a certain situation calls for me to work just because the children aren't in school doesn't mean they are fully closed....and no I'm not a teacher but do work for Lcc.

So no you aren't getting it and you do need to give your head a wobble we all dont work 9 to 5 and have public holiday's off

I would say you are either very young going by your aggressive and childish rebuttals or just ignorant.

There must be another club that has an away ticket policy to suit people who cherry pick games and only want to go to high demand games if we have won the previous few games.

It will be a pure coincidence though when they miss out on a ticket due to not having enough points they claim it is time to re set points to make it fairier

The debate on loyalty points is an interesting one, and not really sure what the answer is. I used to work in retail meaning I never got Saturday's off, so therefore didn't have a season ticket and attended very few games apart from the odd midweek or when I had holidays etc. I did that for almost 10 years. However the last 3 I now work in an environment where I do office hours, weekends off and have bought a season ticket from that moment and barely missed a game home or away.

That means however I don't have a huge amounts of points. Would it really be fair for me to gain priority over someone who has had a season ticket for many years but now doesn't go to many away games? Or is it unfair that due to my previous years of non-attendance I suddenly get priority because the last few years my circumstances have changed?

The point is, regardless of what they do, a group of people will always find it unfair/unbalanced in some way. Missing Newcastle is a tough one to swallow, but the system is what it is and I can only respect it

That maybe but I'm sure that there'll be some Spurs fans with points from way back who won't agree with that system. Just to emphasis that there is no perfect system, practically every club has a different points system. Whatever the system, when all fans who want tickets manage to get them the system will be considered fine, it's only when some can't get them that the system gets criticised. There is no system that will suit all fans and guarantee all a ticket.

With reading the rest of the thread, I presume this (folk moaning about reduced allocation) bothers you.

Just to clarify, I wasnt moaning. I was just pointing out that some who didn't get Newcastle tickets might not be that fussed about going to city. But I'm sure you know that really.
You seem to have got a little touchy about it and made my comment something that it's not.

That's pretty standard. I don't think there are many like Burnley where going to a match ten years ago counts the same as going to a match last week.

Surely the fairest way to do it is give more points to those who go to places such as Bournemouth away rather than Man U, Man City etc. That how Spurs do it as well within each four year cycle.

OK, let's follow through this suggestion. So let's give say 50 points for a long distance away game eg Bournemouth. All other games 10 points. Someone who goes to 4 local/Midlands games gets 40 points. Someone who lives down South/London only goes to the Bournemouth game and gets 50 points. Would that be fair?

You'll get a few that helps but the vast majority of Burnley supporters live in and around the Burnley area so going to Man city than Bournemouth is easier for most Burnley fans.

Not sure someone who lives in North London deserves extra points for going to Arsenal or Spurs tbh. Just resetting the points every 3 or 4 years would be fairer than the current system.

That is how a few of the bigger clubs do it but realistically the demand isn't that high for our tickets for that to be much of an incentive.

But not for people who accumulated the bulk of their points prior to promotion to the Premier League! I'm not sure that there is a system that they could change to that, whilst being fairer to some, will not be detrimental to others.

Out of curiosity, do you think points should ever expire and, if so, how long should they last for?

I'm on the fence. There are some benefits to this for some people but it wouldn't benefit all. And it wouldn't solve the problem when too many fans are after too few tickets!

I don’t go to many away games, maybe a couple each season, but the problem I find is that whilst myself & my brother both have 6000+ points, my dad is only on 4000+ so if we want to go together we have to wait until the second wave of sales.
Not too much of an issue at the moment as not very often we’d sell out straight away but my nephew & godson only started going on this season so if we were all to go we’d have to wait until on sale to STH.

I’m sure we wouldn’t be only ones in this situation.
Maybe an option to “pool” points between family?

If they dont have enough points then its tough luck everyone else as to build their points up
