Re: Vydra again
As good as Vydra was today, you can't say any of our 4 strikers have been undeserving of their spot over the past few months...unfortunately we can only play 2.
So happy for Vydra though, shows that hard work and patience pays off...unlike that w@nker who has gone back to Boro, still being paid by us.

Re: Vydra again
You’re so fking negative, we have just won 3-0, what exactly are you arguing about? You spent over a year making yourself look stupid by claiming Taylor was rubbish yet you are quick to call out others for moaning.......Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 6:59 pmAbsolutely but Barnes and Wood have done more than well against much better defences than today. It will be interesting to see what happens now in terms of keeping the shirt and this is great news and no need to be asking why not before imo as I have seen a couple of very poor cameos from Vydra...

However, we have to insist on criticism of decisions to play others just because someone else comes in and does well. Just like we have to bang on about not taking cups seriously when we sit 8th in the premier league and the player who is being lauded for 150 minutes of premier league football was heavily involved in our poor cup performances....
We have 4 strikers that are a very similar level but have very different attributes..that’s why we have a squad and why we allow our great manager to use the squad as he sees fit...

Re: Vydra again
I wonder, did you attend our League Cup defeat by Sunderland? I think not, because Vyds was our best player in that game by far and couldn't be blamed for the defeat. In fact it was a very neat pass from Vyds to JayRod that provided our goal.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 8:52 pmSpot on.

Re: Vydra again
That's actually irrelevant. They are both poor right now.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 8:15 pmTwo poor teams that have been at this level for thirteen years between them.
The thing is that it's not a criticism of Vydra, but I've seen Wood and Barnes score goals against top 6 teams. I'm pleased for Vydra and he certainly offers something different, so the acid test would be whether he could perform well against better sides than Southampton or Bournemouth; who knows? It could happen.

Just what I was saying but apparently that’s being negative according to some...actually the most negative poster in the history of posting......boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 9:06 pmThat's actually irrelevant. They are both poor right now.

Re: Vydra again
Yep. I'm not criticizing anyone. I think it's great that our (assumed) second string forward line can get us results.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 9:10 pmJust what I was saying but apparently that’s being negative according to some...actually the most negative poster in the history of posting......
The funny thing is that some posters seem to think that their praise of Vydra requires them adversely criticizing either Barnes or Wood....daft.
Re: Vydra again
The fact he lasted that long is amazing heres a bloke who has not played for well over a year...unbelievable from him.Cirrus_Minor wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 5:55 pmI thought he should have had a hat trick and maybe 4 today. But his movement is good and.looks a threat. Was knackered after 70 minutes.

Will certainly be interesting to see what happens at Newcastle next week. They will give us a totally different game to the one Bournemouth gave us today, and will not be anywhere near as generous with the space afforded in behind.
Re: Vydra again
Bournmouth closed us down brilliantly for 50 minutes, two bad decisions for them knocked the stuffing out of them...upto our first goal that was a tough game.

Re: Vydra again
I agree but I think that was mainly due to the prevailing wind. They were good in the first half, we were better in the second.
Re: Vydra again
You just knew he was going to score today. The sort of performance where you can tell he feels invincible - incredibly sharp and undeterred by missing a chance

Re: Vydra again
Excellent performance from him today. Good to see us stretching play in behind a few times with his movement. Him and Jay link nicely.

Re: Vydra again
Great dilemma for the gaffer. No rush for wood or Barnes to return now or be risked until fully fit. We’re very lucky to have 4 really good and different strikers.

Surely the lad has a future with us, he has qualities that improves us as a team, and deserves a good run in the team

Now Hibsclaret has been made a fool by Charlie Taylor, looks like Vydra is the new guy.
I predict Vydra will make you look like a fool again

Beats looking like a fool every time you post. I gave Vydra 8 at Southampton and on Saturday so what’s your point? Where have I said he’s not good enough?claretcarrot93 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:00 pmNow Hibsclaret has been made a fool by Charlie Taylor, looks like Vydra is the new guy.

So saying we have no need to bleat on about why he hasn’t featured before now because the other strikers have been great means I don’t like Vydra....what did you rate Vydra?

Re: Vydra again
He's got another year,plus we've got a 12-month option beyond that.
You do wonder whether the lure of the Euro's has given Vydra a new lease of life, whatever the case we're certainly reaping the benefits.
