Personal message for Dwight McNeil
Make the most of your performance against Bournemouth yesterday. Watch you contribution, over and over again.
Things will get even better in the future but, for now, stay grounded and enjoy the ride!

Fitting tribute to Brian Pilkington. Great to see the tradition of some great wing play continuing with McNeil

Dwights equalled the assists for a player of his age (matched Raheem Stirling)

That's "very" old news BC.
Re: Personal message for Dwight McNeil
Once he starts playing more central this lad will be dynamite
Re: Personal message for Dwight McNeil
He has made Garth Crooks (that took some typing cos I abhor the fat g*t) team of the week....

I think we should definitely keep him for one more season. 100%.

Re: Personal message for Dwight McNeil
Facts, both for his development, our season and the price tag. If he plays next season he will have 80 prem appearances, roughly 15 assists and nearly 10 goals. Impressive stats for a 20 year old, and ones which can push his price well above what we have ever received for a player ever before. He could bring in as much money as every player sale we’ve ever made if he has another good season.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 10:44 pmI think we should definitely keep him for one more season. 100%.

Re: Personal message for Dwight McNeil
Not so sure, think he's a bit one footed (albeit a very good one foot), which results in him excessively positioning his body/turning in a way to go on to his left foot....
That's OK playing more towards the perimeter, but to be a top top central player, one needs to be able to take the ball at any angle with any foot.
Just my opinion of course.

We're still a selling club, in that we have to sell when a silly offer comes in.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 11:28 pmjust hope we put a ridiculous release clause in his contract !
As far as I'm concerned, that will never change anytime soon.
But we got lucky with him. Roll back 2 seasons he had no chance of making the side.

indeed, I still hope we put a 40 million pound clause in rather than an 8 pound fifty one thoughFactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 11:34 pmWe're still a selling club, in that we have to sell when a silly offer comes in.

I really hope we don’t have a 40 million clause in there because he has got to be worth a lot more than that.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 1:12 amindeed, I still hope we put a 40 million pound clause in rather than an 8 pound fifty one though

Re: Personal message for Dwight McNeil
It's always peanuts.
I'd rather have Dwight McNeil in our team than any other more expensive, supposedly higher-rated player.
I wouldn't swap him for Dembele of Barcelona for example and he cost a ridiculous amount of money.
I wouldn't swap him for Raheem Sterling either and how much would Real Madrid pay for him?
He's Galactico level, the pass he played for Wood that was chalked off for offside a few weeks ago (I forget who it was against), the one your granny could have nodded in, reminded me of the incredibly accurate long crosses of Beckham and Zidane.
It was pure footballing magic and if the goal would have stood it would have been the assist of the season.

At today's ridiculous prices, he's got to be worth over £100 million. I'd rather keep him though and win the Champions League with him.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 8:20 amI really hope we don’t have a 40 million clause in there because he has got to be worth a lot more than that.

Re: Personal message for Dwight McNeil
Most games he gets doubled marked or even gets three on him as they know he's our main threat.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 10:38 pmBut keep in mind, Bournemouth gave him an awful lot of space - a hell of a lot.
I haven't watched the game back but I presume Vydra going one on one a few times early on changed their priority.

I had an Arsenal fan telling me the other day that our full backs were brilliant.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 9:02 amAt today's ridiculous prices, he's got to be worth over £100 million. I'd rather keep him though and win the Champions League with him.
Add in the things we already know, our two central defenders and goalkeeper are brilliant, our midfielders are excellent and with an incredible, massively talented young star (and a new signing yet to break in), we have a new central strike partnership which is looking like it could be brilliant and not the worst run in either.
Some people aren't happy with our transfer policy but bloody hell, this is an INCREDIBLE Burnley team.
This season's highlights DVD will be the best in the history of our club. I downloaded the last few episodes of Match of the Day and they are absolutely glorious to watch, if we turn up to every game left and play like we can there's no telling where we can be.
My Spurs supporting mates are shitting themselves. Man City are on a bit of a downer and we know Dyche can sometimes get something from Klopp.
We've pulled clear of the relegation zone so now we can really enjoy ourselves...
UP THE CLARETS!!!

The best part of being a Claret is popular opinion swerving all over the place between us being ****, sleep walking to relegation, and being incredible and talking of beating Spurs, City and Liverpool like it's nothing.Claret-On-A-T-Rex wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 9:20 amI had an Arsenal fan telling me the other day that our full backs were brilliant.

Spurs are missing key players, with a bit of luck City will be tired and demoralised and Liverpool have to lose some time.deanothedino wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 10:04 amThe best part of being a Claret is popular opinion swerving all over the place between us being ****, sleep walking to relegation, and being incredible and talking of beating Spurs, City and Liverpool like it's nothing.

Would love to see him just behind the main striker(s) ... Without having to track back as often as he does, he would be an even bigger threat!

Not saying it's not possible. Just pointing out the contrast to "sleep walking to relegation" that most were claiming after Christmas.Claret-On-A-T-Rex wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 11:58 amSpurs are missing key players, with a bit of luck City will be tired and demoralised and Liverpool have to lose some time.

Re: Personal message for Dwight McNeil
Do we not have a highlights DVD of sorts from 1960? Surely that would be far better than this season? Or 62/63 when we were runners up. Or the run to the quarters in the European cup? These were all better than this season.Claret-On-A-T-Rex wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 9:20 amI had an Arsenal fan telling me the other day that our full backs were brilliant.

Keep up the good work Dwight, strong candidate for Premier league young player of the season.
