In the US state of Connecticut, a pickle cannot be sold as a pickle if it doesn't bounce when dropped from a foot height.

David Moyes is the fourth manager to have his teams score 700 Premier League goals.

I cheated and nicked that off the live Beeb text feed, but it's undeniably a fact.

How do they define the bounce? And do they have to test them all?

Repeating a common word over and over until it loses all meaning and sounds weird is called semantic satiation.

Only one river in England flows predominently northward. Name it.

Google give loads of weird answers and doesn't even mention the one I'm talking about. The main answer seems to be the Trent, but that flows North East.

Derwent?
You're right up to a point but having just gone through several Google answers it's becoming complicated. The Derwent is a tributary of other rivers and the one I was looking for isn't. Best to reveal my answer I think and that's the Eden. The Eden flows out of the Lake District directly into the sea near Carlisle.

I liked geography at school many years ago and it's one of those strange FACTS that I've always remembered.

A dry river bed in the desert is called a wadi.

I'm guessing it's in the north of Scotalnd seeing as how most rivers run into the sea?
