Europa League tonight

Post by tiger76 » Thu Feb 27, 2020 8:43 pm

So Rangers through last night, and Wolves through earlier,Arsenal,Celtic, and Man U in action a real chance of 5 British clubs in the last 16,and at least one all British tie you'd think if they all progress.

Man U 2 up,why on earth it took 5 minutes to review that penalty heaven only knows, and a straight red card quite rightly,Bruno Fernandes is a cool customer isn't he,and a debut goal for Ighalo, should be easy street for the reds now.

Arsenal and Celtic still scoreless and going through as it stands, but it could get nervy for both.

Interesting that Istanbul Basaksehir are also through, they scored right at the death in ET to eliminate Sporting Lisbon, puts into perspective our result in last year's qualifiers.

Crazy.

At the Emirates Great support from Olympiakos ... Puts our 200 or so away fans to shame.

They didn’t travel as far. Most of them will be from Edmonton.

Of that I'm aware. But they will have brought quite a lot over nonetheless.

If we're serious about pushing for Europe it's probably better that Arsenal go through and have the extra games to distract them a bit.

They have had a few weeks since the draw was made to make travel plans. We had only 2 or 3 days at most to sort something out and prices for the 3rd consecutive fortnightly trip went through the roof. All direct flights sold out in a few hours so people had to use all sorts of weird routings!

No... I mean our poor support at Arsenal. Yes I understand the complications arising on traveling to turkey and Greece .

2 quick goals for Copenhagen, that's game, set and match.Celtic's defending has been abysmal.

The Gunners heading to ET.

Inter played behind closed doors tonight and all Italian league games will do the same at the weekend due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

I'm sure a few arsenal players can fall over it and roll around a bit.
Celtic didn't deserve to get through on that performance. I'm not sure we've defended that badly since losing 0-4 at West brom.

Exactly their performance and Istanbul B qualifying for the last 16 shows just how tough a draw we actually got last year, bearing in mind our other tie was against Aberdeen in a sort of local derby. And yet some people still insist we didn't take the EL seriously :?

Big let off for Arsenal as the Greeks strike the woodwork.
