I thought he was excellent today, up there with the best we've seen this season so far. 7 bookings but I don't think you could argue with any of them tbf

Tarkowski was booked for what? Jumping higher than his opponent to win the ball? Because his opponent fell down? Because he won the ball fairly and squarely?THEWELLERNUT70 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 12:24 amI thought he was excellent today, up there with the best we've seen this season so far. 7 bookings but I don't think you could argue with any of them tbf
It was not even a foul, as was confirmed by the Newcastle commentary team which the bloke sat next to me was listening to. I can only guess that the referee deemed his high jump as 'endangering the safety of an opponent' --such is the modern game where yellow cards are being dished out for absolutely nothing in an effort to take the physical contact out of the game.

Agreed Ashington, took place right in front of our seats in the Platinum Club. A powerful, robust header from Tarkowski where he was head and shoulders above the Newcastle player and clearly won the ball. A dreadful, unnecessary, incorrect booking in which the ref responded to the one - eyed Newcastle crowd.

Re: RATE THE REF: Andy Madley v Newcastle United
I was in the East Stand and almost right opposite and couldn't believe a foul had been given. The booking Bardsley got was right in front of where I was and that, too, was a joke although the Toon player did roll around a lot. To be honest I thought that a couple of their cautions were ridiculous too.CleggHall wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 10:48 amAgreed Ashington, took place right in front of our seats in the Platinum Club. Sadly, that is the modern game.

Tarks had an identical challenge at Bournemouth and the pros were commenting what a great header it was.

Re: RATE THE REF: Andy Madley v Newcastle United
An absolutely pathetic decision. It wasn’t even a free kick, never mind a yellow card. A decision by someone who has never played the game. It was exacerbated yet further when, about 10 minutes later, a Newcastle player made exactly the same challenge but the referee gave no free kick and, of course, no booking. But then our player didn’t roll around like someone had just hit him with a stale stottie.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 10:32 amTarkowski was booked for what?
