Burnley is gradually climbing the ladder of fame .
Lately Burnley is showing its true mettle .The players under hard training of Manager s\Sean Dyche have tremendously improved . Some of them are knocking the gates to play international matches .At least two players must play for England .the misfortune is that Burnley is rather a small club and our players are ignored .i strongly feel that this time their efforts will be rewarded as continuously they are providing sterling performances .
Will they qualify for Europa Cup . i would say yes as they will surpass many which are above them in ranking .
Long Live Burnley !!!

Institutions like football clubs can take either the singular or plural form of the verb dependant on the context of the sentence. If the club is being referred to as a single entity only then it takes the single form of the verb: if the club is referring to its total entity,ie including the personnel therein, then it can take the plural.
Here are two examples:
Burnley FC is the greatest football club in the world
Burnley FC are making a bid to buy Messi from Barcelona.
Both are correct.

He would be past it by the time he was Dyche FitRingoMcCartney wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 12:15 amGo to disagree Boss.
I reckon he'd could do a job, coming off the bench for the last 10.
(Providing he's "Dyche fit)

Re: Burnley is gradually climbing the ladder of fame .
It is understandable to use that term there as the Amercian (and often South American) way is to refer to a club in the singular. I've noticed it many times and many would say it is even right to do so as a club is a singular unit, only it's supporters and players etc are plural. I do prefer our way as it is what we are used to but being picky 'is' would be the correct term I believe.conyoviejo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 6:53 pmGreat post Dave ..
