Is there any point in sacking managers at this stage of the season?
Is there any point in sacking managers at this stage of the season?
Disclaimer: this question is NOT about Burnley FC.
It's a general question. There are 11 games left in the PL. Is that enough for a new man to turn a club's situation around? As a general rule, not too many Chairmen get rid come March although some do.

I think it’s probably the best time if you’re thinking of getting rid, why wait till end of season. It gives the new manager 11 games to assess what he as, who he wants to keep, and who he doesn’t. It also gives those players a chance to up their game and play themselves into the new bosses plans. That’s my thoughts. Can never understand waiting till season end.

The three or four game ‘bounce’ that clubs often get after sacking their managers might be enough to get them out of relegation trouble.
Re: Is there any point in sacking managers at this stage of the season?
How often have we had a bounce when in that situation-relegation threatened and sack a manager.
In my time only really sacked Adamson then Brown, Potts, Miller.
In fact in my time Hill resigned to go to ?Preston, Brown left for Sunderland, Dougal retired ill, Potts moved upstairs, Adamson, Brown, Potts, Miller sacked, Casper not given the job, Bond sacked, Benson resigned, Buchan resigned, Cavanagh left, Miller and Casper resigned, Mullen sacked, Heath resigned, Waddle left, Stan not reappointed, Cotts mutual consent ?sacked, Coyle left, Laws sacked, Howe resigned.
We don't do sacking too often do we?

Depends on the situation.
If you have a team on the brink of the play offs that have dropped down from automatics on a 10 game unbeaten run just not performing on the squad unhappy fair enough. It’s worth a shot with a new man.
The same situation but just little moments going against them in games and the squad/manager fully together then it’ll be a crazy move imho.

If you have 11 games left and relegation is looming you need to sack your manager and get Big Fat Sam in. That should do the trick.

If it was West Ham he probably would.
