Well, it's pretty obvious he'll be on his way to the top with a big club, but hopefully not as soon as summer.

There has never been a 20yr old winger who performs every single week play for us before, nevermind come through our youth set up.

I like to think David Thomas got out on the wing a few times for Burnley as a teenager...might be wrong though.

Agreed he has been fantastic.
Just the last few games he has started to instinctively turn back and run away from the full back.

Just an observation, hope it’s not a change of his confidence

Leighton James was playing on the left wing for us from being 17 years old, if my memory serves me well and I believe he was a better player at that age than McNeil is now.

You're right Tim, Dave Thomas was also playing regularly on the wing for us as a teenager.

He can't have performed every week, as we got relegated in his debut season didn't we?

I think you are very wrong bud. You must be one of the younger ones on here. You never heard of Dave Thomas? And wasn’t Taffy James only that age? And that is only two who were in the same team. That team was better than this one, they could have won the league if Lord hadn’t have sold most of them.

The key word is performed.

Not even Ryan Giggs performed every week.

Some good company he is keeping there, made even more surprising when you consider he has had all the flair coached out of him (according to one of the oracles on here) :D

Terrific company he's in there. Hard to know how good he'll be, he's still a young pup. He's obviously not quite in the Ryan Giggs bracket, who aside from Messi and perhaps Brazilian Ronaldo is probably one of the best teenagers to play at the highest level in the modern era. He's certainly the best young talent I've seen in a Burnley shirt. Then again, I started watching us in the old 4th division b :D
