Nihal Arthanayake .... Radio 5 Live !!

Post by Clarets4me » Tue Mar 03, 2020 6:19 pm

Fantastic cock-up from the ever PC and woke Nihal, this afternoon ....

Interviewing the female Boxer, Ramla Ali, he heard her inspiring tale of fleeing Somalia in fear of her life as a refugee with her mother to Kenya, then coming to the UK ( apparently the nearest safe Country ! ), being fed, educated, and enjoyed the benefits of the NHS. She's won an English boxing title and in closing, Nihal, fully researched as ever, said, " I'm sure we all look forward to you entering the ring for Team GB, in Tokyo " ..

" Er, actually, I'll be boxing for Team Somalia, if I qualify " .......

I can't stand him. He's spoiled Radio 5 in the afternoons for me. He is soooooooo sloooooow when he speaks and asks questions. Mike Dean would have him booked for time wasting! I've mentioned before, it's like a funeral director discussing arrangements with a bereaved family.

I really cannot stand listening to him. I always put another station on when he’s on

Can’t stand him and have to turn over if I hear him. He’s not been chosen to present on merit imo. He is so far below the standard of any other Radio 5 presenter I’ve ever heard it’s incredible. Beyond abysmal and ruins Radio 5.Talks absolute sh*te.

I gave him a lift to the airport once in Ibiza. Really sound guy. That was back in his radio 1 days though with Bobby Friction.

I’m sure he does in some people’s minds - here’s the truth, when I first started listening to him I had no idea what his name was or what his ethnicity was either - and how he was talking and referring to stuff I related to I pictured him as a white middle class person, and it was a genuine shock to find out his name and heritage - and to me that’s a good thing because I clearly accepted him without knowing his skin colour or race etc, don’t you think..?

That's absolutely right, Zlatan, but you have to understand he works for the BBC, an organisation which, as you can see, really upsets more than a few posters on here.

I'm no big fan of the BBC either and I do have a personal dislike for the 2 "jokers" who they've put on Radio 5 on a Friday afternoon, they're just not funny.

Is he the guy that used to be on Radio 1 on a Sunday a few years back and occasionally filled in for possibly Scott Mills when he was off?

If so then I never really took to him, mainly down to the way he spoke, I just found him really boring. Not heard him on 5 live I don't think but then it isn't a station I listen to often.

I can't listen to him either - I thought it was just me being old and grumpy.
I find him condescending and dull.

I thought he seemed ok back in his Radio 1 days but since his move to 5live I struggle to listen, due to his apparent quest to be the most woke person in broadcasting. In fairness, it's rare I get the opportunity to listen during his time slot, but I find myself switching on a podcast instead if I notice it's his programme.

It's actually comforting that I am not alone in being irritated by the sheer strength of Nihal's achingly right-on PC woke-ness........It's as if he is a parody of the BBC's PC box-ticking (and I am a big advocate/fan of the BBC this aside).

That's outrageous. Who on earth would pay that prick 150k to be our PM ? World's gone mad.

Aye cos we all know £150k is all that Boris earns

That would not even pay for school fees for his 37 children.

He needs to be nastier. Throw in some racism every now and again. He should tell it like it is by using his common sense. I’ll tell you who he could learn a lot from, someone like Jim Davidson.

As I said, the world's gone mad. Either of those berks being given the chance of earning 150k to be our PM shows the state we're in.
