Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
Man City Captain, Tommy Doyle's two Grandfather's are Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe, names who'll need no introduction to the more senior posters on here ...
Our two central defenders are coping well with the crosses so far, yet to see Conn Clarke have much say in proceedings ..

Kid 'em your UK side.
We're defending well.
Look very well organised.
No idea where they've got that from.

To be fair, our youth team is pretty much a clone of our first team in terms of style and tactics.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:45 pmcannot do with those commentators - talk about stereotyping our club
We are doing well without much ball.
harry Allen looks a very confident young goal;keeper, and Prutti is playing very well.

Think we’ve played well in the first half against a side who are having an outstanding season at a higher level.

It appears that someone on the touchline has borrowed Sean's throat lozenges !!

Thought they competed really well there. Just looked a little rushed in possession at times.
Conn-Clarke stood out, especially when he shifted inside later in the game.

Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
We competed very well with great discipline. The sooner we get our youths competing in the top division the better, we have some good lads at present.
I liked Mellon's energy late on, and Conn-Clarke looked very good in central midfield when he switched.

Think Ben & Westy being there says a lot about the current character of our club.

Only saw the last 35 mins or so.
Conn-Clarke looked classy when moved inside as others have said.
Keeper looked good too.

Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
There was a photo of Ben on the BFC twitter account. He had a headset on and was speaking, I thought, to Phil Bird (I might be wrong on that, it could have been a City commentator). I thought he might have been there for Clarets Player. Obviously it's his old club but first class to see him and Ashley there. It's good for everybody.

Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
I can't believe some people are moaning,we've just lost narrowly to arguably one of the top youth academy sides in world football, and really we shouldn't have got as far as we did.
This experience can only benefit our youngsters in their development, and that's the top priority, cat 1 will mean we play better opposition on a more regular basis,at long last the youth set-up is being rebuilt after Eddie and Jason's terrible legacy.

Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
We were probably expected to get through against Curzon Ashton and Mansfield but we were very much underdogs against West Brom when we turned in a terrific performance. My one concern tonight was us getting a hammering against a team that have won virtually all of their games this season.tiger76 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:04 pmI can't believe some people are moaning,we've just lost narrowly to arguably one of the top youth academy sides in world football, and really we shouldn't have got as far as we did.

We are making exceptional progress at this level. We will never be a Man City or a Chelsea but tonight is certainly not a time for criticism in any way.
What we got, I thought, was a very good performance from our lads in what really was a difficult game.

Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
Thought our lads did brilliant. The commentators on the you tube channel were complimentary about our shape and defending.
City can recruit the best young players in Europe - the Dutch lad on the wing looked like he could already get in a few teams first team squad (possibly ours).
The way the city lads celebrated their goal you could tell it was a relief for them.
And we played the game without arguably our best player in Lewis Richardson.
They should be very proud of themselves and things are looking good for the future at all levels in the club - but patience is needed as it can take 5 to 10 years to recover from where we were under Howe etc

Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
Unfortunately, I did not see or hear anything about the game because I was out last night, however, reading the comments, it would seem that we put up a creditable performance and getting beat by the odd goal is certainly not a disgrace against a City team which attracts players from all over the place.
Re: CITY V BURNLEY UI8
Seconded and we were very unfortunate to lose Rhys Fenlon very early on, as he has lots of pace and an eye for goal.TVC15 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 9:21 amThought our lads did brilliant. The commentators on the you tube channel were complimentary about our shape and defending.
