Most Expensive XI
Slow day at work - got onto a conversation about biggest transfer fees that teams have paid. Tried to work out a team in a 4-4-2 formation what would the starting eleven be for us based on the transfer fee that we paid for them (don't have to be current players)
GK- Assume Pope? (we have had some great keepers for very little money)
RB - Trippier
CB - Gibson
CB - Tarkowski
LB - Ward? (Scary feeling this could be Brian Easton )
RM - Gudmundsson
CM - Hendrick
CM - Defour
LM - Brady
ST - Wood
ST - Vydra
Anybody make any adjustments to any that we got wrong?

Re: Most Expensive XI
Could we swap Jeff for JBG and stick Westwood in the middle too.

Re: Most Expensive XI
What strikes me is the phenomenal value for money that we have had in certain positions

Re: Most Expensive XI
I thought most transfer fees were undisclosed these days.

Re: Most Expensive XI
Joe Hart most expensive keeper at 4m.
Re: Most Expensive XI
Think Brownhill was £10m, so more expensive than Defour (£7m). Lowton definitely more expensive than Trippier too.

Re: Most Expensive XI
Do the whole lot add up to one Paul Pogba ( £89.3m ) ?

Re: Most Expensive XI
I could be wrong but I was always led to believe Trippier was about 750k (as was Ben Mee) and Lowton was around a million.
Seen the press quoting 7m for Brownhill but whether that includes add ons, who knows.
Re: Most Expensive XI
Wasn't Cork about £8m?
Re: Most Expensive XI
Lowton £1.5m
Trippier and Mee fees never disclosed but believed to be around £0.5m each
