Climbing into the stand to remonstrate with “fans”.
This could go further.

All the way to the back of the stand?

He has to get the same as Cantona as a minimum.

Just read that it was because the bloke he punched allegedly made racist comments aimed at Gedson Fernandes.

So he allegedly heard racial abuse from the back of the stands and pinpointed the person out? Why hasn’t anyone else dealt with the issue? You can’t just go and physically attack someone like that, would have served him right if he got smashed up. Wouldn’t be a loss to anyone anyway as he is vastly overrated.

Does seem errm bo**ocks to be fair, specifically identifying the target amidst thousands of people & from a distance amid a cacophony of different sounds, some bloody eyesight & hearing nevermind the footballing abilities he possesses.

It was his brother being targeted, I think most of us would do the same if pumped up and angry.

Completely out of order but we all have our triggers

Wouldn’t say most, getting paid thousands a week some would laugh it off & let it slide.

Fair enough I suppose I’m different, if someone was targeting my brother I wouldn’t laugh it off regardless of my earnings.

Like I say, he’s wrong but for me its easy to see how he has snapped.

You can't go wading into the stand like that, whatever the provocation, player or not.
If he had a problem, he should have took it up with a copper or steward

As above, hopefully he'll miss our game.

How did he manage to hear one person's comments in a full stand and pick out exactly the right person? This guy needs to work on one of our nuclear submarines with hearing like that let alone play football for Spurs.

Big tart.
Pity the crowd would be full of southern fairies.
Should have been carried out of the stand on a stretcher by rights.

FA have confirmed they will be investigating the incident.

I'd say it's looking likely he won't be featuring against us.

There will be a backlash to this come Saturday with Spurs adopting, I suspect, Mourhino's default "Siege Mentality".
Good. We get at them from the kick-off, rough 'em up a bit, get them rattled and whining and then destroy them in style.
A full 90 minutes of power and aggression.

Depends how quickly they do it I guess. Although Spurs May choose to fine and ban him themselves like United did with Cantona.

I suspect he’s been looking for his family in the crowd as players often do at full time, seen his brother in some sort of bother and waded in.

I posted tongue in cheek on the other thread.

Reality is everyone is judging him and hanging him out to know with out any facts at all.

And like the incident with the young lad who died recently instead of anyone intervening or helping they just all stand there filming it.

Hardly the same level as the Cantona incident though I’d imagine he gets at least a 4-6 game ban . Spurs in total disarray, never a better time to play em

Dier is a numpty and should be given an hefty fine and ban. We can't have players jumping into the stands to have a barny with the fans, total unprofessionalism.

Brother Dier should also be banned from the stadium. He gets complimentary tickets for every game, which no doubt come with an hospitality package. He should keep his mouth shut and not get involved with supporters who spend thousands watch their team

We don't know the full story yet but obviously Dier shouldn't have intervened. It's hardly akin to the Cantona incident though is it? As far as Ive heard, he only "confronted" somebody- as opposed to attacking them with his boot.
He used to be a decent player (and, as a big plus, he did that tackle on Ramos in the England win over Spain a couple of years back). He's gone off his game this last year or so though- not sure whether it's physical or mental (or maybe just Jose).

Things are piling up on Spurs lately with the injuries/lack of form issues and now this. Maybe that new stadium is jinxed.

Listening to Talksport this morning Jamie O'Hara was saying that the clubs should provide safe seating areas for all player relatives/guests
Big Al suggested that they buy their own private box
Jamie replies "have you seen the price of those things"

Well that depends, if he’s having a go at someone being racist as reported then he has my full support. Eric Dyer should have left him to it though.

No, I believe the winner wins by just ignoring it, you show more maturity & class, people who witnessed what happened & the wider world this morning will have their own opinions on the rights & wrongs, I don't know exactly what got said, as you get older & wiser you deal with things & approach things differently, he's only (24) I think so understandable the reaction I guess. Just googled wilki (26) still young.

totally agree with this. Lets face it, the racism row from a few weeks ago at the Spurs stadium highlighted that they have very extensive CCTV throughout the ground - why didn't he take his grievance up with the club and let them sort out whatever was said or done and ban the prat that was offending him?

Rich people can get depressed, I'd like to put that to the test but I doubt I'll ever be rich enough to find out
You can have too much money, the best of everything the cars, the holidays, the women, after so long I guess it can get boring when there's nothing left to be excited about, unfortunately I don't think I'll ever be in that position to find that out for myself as with the rest of the 99.9% of us.

Immaturity caused the reaction, in later life he might have a chuckle about it & what happened but in 10/20 years he'll look back on it & regret not walking away.
