I didn't even know the womens word cup (cricket) was on, let alone what was happening in it. I guess I must be one of those who are ignorant of the facts. One fact I do know though is that under no circumstances I can think of would you say Australia is in India's back yard. If it was then what do we call Russia? Near neighbours?

It's just at the end of the street bud, about 5 or 6 doors down, depending on which way you go.

You called the participants ’guys’ so it’s no wonder CT had to point out it’s the women’s World Cup.
'Guys' has become a non-gender-specific term. That's occasionally controversial but it happens a lot. A lot of people making out it's only used in the US.

Collins Dictionary (a UK dictionary):
"guys in British English
(ɡaɪz)
plural noun
informal
persons of either sex"

Why do cricket grounds have floodlights? Because bats at nocturnal.

I think it is more of another attempt to wind people up, but the OP lacks enough guile to make these posts consistently effective
Had Cfc made out after a few posts it was a fishing expedition the thread would have ended there and then but ...... He didn't and just digs deeper holes

No CC I am talking about your assumption it was in Indias backyard.... there is over 6000 miles between them

Distance from Delhi to Sydney 10,436 km
Earth is 24000 miles around ... 6000 is 25% of that

data=DXxc16W57T9Pk8RoGRdVE2O1TQXnmbbwLr3tFvv1BaUuUbYOKsvDGxmcaYn7a5dURjo_63dA5OkTf-57vBhq8QsbseE18J3tstfq2SkbB1N00DK1nYPmL7bv8...x2abnssqvLhfPvQ8i5DYnmGyR_mabi_-pLkBEoL5CkvjwmJIt2kgxoJyYjixf68zDuFXKyNZ6usiRqCNDk-UIC8Y00w0WnXjD9YHXVNF-f_a-Dw6g4Q5I5BkDA.png

How many backyards gave a f**king Ocean to cross to get to the other side

Now that is comedy gold

Cricket - days in the sun, drinking, eating, having a laugh, watching the odd bit of sporting drama.

Hard not to like it
