Revamped League Cup?
Some may dismiss this because it's David Moyes
However, I'm not against it in principal.
Thoughts?

Re: Revamped League Cup?
If the "big clubs" and UEFA are worried about fixture overload perhaps change the Champions League back to a straight knockout competition rather than the group league stage.
Or, the "big clubs" could choose not to enter the League Cup competition at all.
A British inter-league competition might be interesting but would it be all the teams from Scottish, Welsh and N Irish leagues?
As you say, interesting possibilities.

Beat me to it. Personally get tired of all the Champ League group games and dead rubbers. Would prefer a straight forward knockout ( like the League Cup !)

Re: Revamped League Cup?
The champions league and Europa league are not going to be cut back. If anything in future they will be more games in European club competitions as they want the big clubs to be playing as often as possible in it as it generates more money.
I think all clubs in European competitions shouldn’t enter the fa cup and the league cup. The big clubs usually win them anyway so it would give other clubs the chance to win and get to Wembley. The big clubs don’t want to be in it anyway so win win. The league cup suffers the worst so maybe letting a few Scottish clubs in may not be a bad thing. Better then having the big club reserve sides in it who don’t care.

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere they’re looking to bring in a Europa League 2. Not sure if it will involve English clubs though.

Does anyone really expect anything other than further ‘Champions League’ expansion, while so many pigs each get a tit?

Remembering the Anglo Scottish cup, I'd rather we kept things as they are.

Re: Revamped League Cup?
The thing with the League Cup is that tinker with it too much. Different names, two-legged rounds, seeded teams, regions, non-league teams, golden goals, silver goals, no away goals... just have it as a baby FA Cup.
To me, if I was to make it different to the FA Cup, it should just be the same knockout rules - apart from no replays or extra time and semi-finals are played at whoever is drawn at home and the result is decided on the night with a final at Wembley. Bigger cash prizes per round and place in Europe for the winner.

Be good in principle. But imagine the cost of a southern lower league club having to play in Scotland. 21ish players, coaches etc having to get their stay the night l, travel back. It’ll be the end for some.

Re: Revamped League Cup?
I'm sure it could be split into two sections, just like the current domestic cup competitions have been in the early rounds.
I'm sure they'd all try to avoid Crawley travelling to Elgin for example.
