It's a nonsense.

Apparently shaking hands in tunnel before they came out ! Indeed what a nonsense.

Somebody at the PL has to make it clear what the official line is on this,it seems it's being left to the clubs to make their own choice on whether to engage in handshakes or not.

I believe some did today, and some choose not to,until clarity emerges this inconsistency will persist.

Inconsistency is all part of the game Tiger, just ask Mr. Moss.

The ceremonial pre-match handshake is one part of a football match over which the premier league and EFL has direct control, and in light of the hysteria over the coronavirus it's a case of being seen to act more than actually doing anything effective to reduce it potentially spreading. Forgoing the handshake almost certainly won't make a difference to the health of the players because they're touching each other for an hour and a half, but cancelling it reduces PL/EFL liability. It's one less potential headache for the authorities. The players all walked out holding the hands of children for Christ's sake.

If it’s to avoid infection then I think having a few water bottles at the edge of the technical area that anyone and everyone takes a swig out of might be a bigger problem. Even noticed a Spurs player helping himself to one of the bottles in front of our dugout yesterday.

But to be honest I think it’s more to do with the message. If the population at large are being asked to avoid handshakes then it’d look a bit strange to do it at the start of a football match even though there are far bigger opportunities for infection.

The Premier League should follow Rugby Union (in more ways than one). At the end of the game one team forms a tunnel and the opposing team walks through the tunnel. This is then reciprocated. The Match Officials stand and applaud both teams. Imagine Jon Moss applauding the teams at the end of a game. That would be somewhat ironic....

After yesterdays performance I think the Spurs players would have formed a guard of honour and applauded Moss off :)

Get rid of it. Never bring it back. A farce.

Start by banning gobbing, grollying and gargling water onto the pitch.
