JRod was our best player first half and didn’t come out for the second. Surprised it took so long to hook him.

Pope - 7 - Solid. Never troubled
Bardsley - 6 - Defensively sound. Nothing going forward. Not his fault. Upgrade needed in summer.
Mee -7- Bit rash on pen, apart from that was good.
Tarky -8- Best defender on the pitch.
Taylor -7- 1st half got forward well, penned back a bit 2nd
Cork-5- Filled in positions well. Too easy for people to run off him. Time as a automatic starter is coming to an end.
Westwood -6- worked hard and tried to get on ball, hot to use it better though.
Hendrick-6- Typical Jeff game. Worked hard on defensive side. Not much going forward. Upgrade needed in summer.
McNeil -8- Main creative outlet again. Needs people to give him the ball further up the pitch rather than picking it up on the edge of his own box.
Wood-7- does what he does.
Jay-5- started off well. Gave ball away for their goal and never got going 2nd half.

Vydra-6- good movement. Should've scored.

That's two draws that have been burgled and taken back down the road to North London, inside the last month.

Pope - 7 - virtual spectator, no chance with penalty and handled well.

Bardsley - 6 - clearly managing a niggle from early on which hampered his effectiveness, but still steady.

Taylor - 8 - some lovely interplay with McNeil but if we're being hyper-critical his final ball was wanting at times.

Tarkowski- 8 - bossed the backline in tricky conditions.

Mee - 6 - really poor tackle for the penalty and caught out a couple of other times.

Cork- 8 - bossed the midfield first half and stuck to his task gamely when Spurs switched things after the break.

Westwood- 7 - steady shift, thought his final ball could have been sharper a few times.

Hendrick- 8 - absolutely crucial to our first half dominance, playing narrow and wide with huge tactical intelligence, and using the ball well to link the play. Then shielded Bardsley unselfishly second half and gave is a decent outlet on the outside.

McNeil - 9 - another wonderful performance. Ripped Spurs apart in the first half and even with less territory to work with after the break he could have had a couple of assists after the break. If there's one criticism, he should be engineering shooting opportunities more rather pinning back his ears for the by-line as a default, but that's a small criticism.

Rodriguez - 7 - ran the game in the first half when his fluid movement and craft made him our best player, but he gave the ball away cheaply to allow Spurs the break for the penalty, and he never recovered his poise before being rightly hooked.

Wood - 8 - led the line terrifically to more than justify his recall, and of course got his goal.

Vydra - 7 - showed some sharp link up, but had a golden chance to win it, on his strong foot from 12 yards, and inexplicably turned inside onto his weaker foot and gave covering defenders a chance to get back in.

First half was as good as anything Burnley have produced in my lifetime - a quite superb display of what our attacking game is all about, with McNeil and Taylor linking wonderfully down the left, and the trio around Wood of Jay, Hendrick and McNeil interchanging to super effect as we bossed Spurs and produced countless openings. But we weren't especially clinical - either in our finishing or sometimes our final ball/decision - and there was always a risk it would come back to haunt us.

So it proved - but whilst Spurs improved out of sight after the break and shaded the second period, we stuck at it and still probably created the better chances overall.

This recent run has been quite superb - we're being spoilt.

Fantastic first half dominance. Needed another before the break. Could have gone either way second half. Would have taken a point before the match but Spurs will be the happier with that point. Good atmosphere. Poor refereeing and soft rolling around from Spurs.

Tremendous stuff....one of those games that makes me reflect on what a fantastic time this is to be a Claret. Moss was ridiculous. Frustrating not to win but very, very happy with the quality of our game at the moment.

Pope 7 - not much to do
Bardsley 7 - tenacious and full of energy
Taylor 7 - not attacking enough though that changed in last 20 when we started to win corners
Tarkowski 9 - immense
Mee 7 - good on the whole but too many errors this season like the penalty today
Westwood 7 - good before he was owned by Dier after the break
Cork 7 - a good start and kept going
Hendrick 7 - hustled with some quality but that position needs more, it puts pressure on Dwight
McNeil 9 - top class, about 5 passes that really opened them up, the one through to Vydra was a peach
Rodriguez 7 - faded but good early and led to the goal
Wood 8 - energy filled game, caused them some problems

Vydra 8 - made an immediate huge difference, his energy and movement helped Wood and gave the midfielders options

A really good effort. Thought Dyche made an error (as many of us predicted) by dropping Vydra, despite Wood playing well (and being a good player) Vydra didn’t deserve dropping. Either the message is “you wait for chance then if you grab it you get to stay in” or it was a load of hot air. I suspect the latter. For management style Dyche will always prioritise holding the ball up rather than scoring goals, and to be fair to him it often works.

The game immediately changed when Vydra came on (as it did when Moura came on and the imperious Dier moved into midfield where we had been dominant). Hopefully this means Vydra and Wood can get a chance together (not just at City which is fairly pointless as an exercise).

I’m not going to talk about Moss. I haven’t seem a game of two halves in that sense since Athens.

That first half was some of the best football we've played under Dyche. Spuds were absolutely shellshocked but we needed the second goal that our dominance deserved.

Pope - 7 comfortable, very little to test him

Bardsley - 6 clearly suffered with his knock

Tarkowski - 8 bizarre if he's not in the England squad

Mee - 7 decent enough but going in like that was never a good idea

Taylor - 8 class

Westwood - 7 everywhere first half, less so in the second

Cork - 7 same as Westwood as spurs got more of a grip after the break

Hendrick - 7 loads of important work, just at time when you need him to be a winger you remember he isn't a winger

McNeil - 8 unplayable first half, restricted for a lltvofctge second as spurs doubled up on him but he came strong again near the end. Through ball to Vydra was a peach.

Wood - 8 poacher's goal, denied a clear penalty and did loads of defensive work covering the full backs

Rodriguez - 7 another game where so much of our best football has gone through him. Some of the one touch stuff in the first half was sublime and he was unlucky to be the one to make way for Vydra

Vydra - 6 immediately offered something different but he's spurned two very good chances that he probably should have bagged

I said at half time we could have done with a second goal and so it proved. Credit to Mourinho, he's earned his corn making two subs that changed the game and pushing Dier into midfield, who really got a grip of things in there.

That said, we were inexplicably denied a blatant penalty and had good chances to take the points. Spuds have got away with one today but it was a cracking game overall. Shame it's another one dominated by a crap refereeing performance.

Pope 8
Bardsley 7
Tarks 8
Mee 7 (-1 of course for silly tackle in the box)
Taylor 8
Cork 8
Westwood 8
Hendrick 7
McNeil 8
Wood 7
Jayrod 7

Vydra 6 (-1 for not shooting when clean through!)

So reminiscent of the other North London pretenders in that for years they've been so much better and "entitled" and now they look utterly impoverished. Without Kane and Son they were absolutely there for the taking and if we'd had a half decent start to the second half we'd have done them. First half we were miles better, but Mora made a huge difference second half and we gifted them a way back into the game with some awful defending leading to an awful tackle by Mee. Last 10/15 we got back into them and I thought (hoped) we might just nick it, but it wasn't to be. Another game where I'd have taken the point beforehand, but ultimately feel we really should have won. And it has to be said that as much as we were not really as good second half, how much of that was actually down to Moss totally losing the plot!!?? It was definitely a factor.

Pope 7 almost nothing to do
Bardsley 7 played with what looked like painful niggle ,decent
Mee 6 -1 for pen otherwise decent
Tarkowski 8 rock solid
Taylor 7 slick and worked well with Dwight
Hendrick 6 huge effort and heart but upgrade needed
Cork 7 always involved can’t fault his effort but lost pace
Westwood 7 Grafted as ever
McNeil 7 some flashes of magic when he skinned 2 and good cross for goal
Wood 7 +1 for goal confident
Rodriguez 7 cracking 1st half no show 2nd

Vydra chances and nice movement

Cracking 1st half and should have buried em , playing a level up atm , drifted a bit 2nd and allowed a horrible cheating flouncing Spurs to just hang on

Pope 7 - apart from the pen, I don’t remember him having to make a save
Bardsley 8 injured early but what a warrior. Not sure he made any friends on the Spurs bench
Tarkowski 8
Mee 8
Taylor 7
Hendrick 7
Westwood 8 lovely ball in the 2nd half to wood. Gets better every week
Cork 7
McNeil 8*
Rodriguez 6
Wood 6 -1 for the dummy where he should of taken the shot. You’re a striker take the bloody shot man

Vydra 4 still has a fascination to score the perfect goal- just hit it man

A good set of marks that I generally agree with. I do think that it was hard to counter their speedy play in the second half. We probably needed a tactical switch but that might have detracted from our own forward play. Probably needed Cork to drop deeper and stay fairly central to give a little more cover to Tarks and Mee. But sometimes you have to give your opponents some credit for turning things around. They had been dangerous early in the first half until we started to dominate defensively with all our back four discussing what needed to be done. Tarks had another excellent game but fortunately when he didn’t quite get it right we didn’t concede. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but that was a proper good game.

Vydra 4 still has a fascination to score the perfect goal- just hit it man
Vydra 4. Get real! He’s a great player and we would have won comfortably if he had started. Dyche gets it wrong all the time regarding Matej Vydra. He will leave Burnley in the not too distant future and prove his worth elsewhere. He offers so much and we will all realise this when he is scoring lots for another club. Shame.

We all see the game differently but I find it hard to believe you watched the game ( sober anyway) to give Wood 6 and then Vydra 4 imo of course.

Pope
Bardsley 6
Tarkowski 8
Mee 6 its getting to one a game now, but an undroppable, so we can ignore the loss of 2 points...
Taylor 8
Hendrick 7
Westwood 7
Cork 7
McNeil 8 mom, but runs out of steam at 70
Wood 7
Rodriguez 6

cant wait until we upgrade the right hand side, its none existent regards an attacking threat.
2 points drooped today due to an individual error, it happens, but so frustrating

Pope 7
Bardsley 8
Tarks 8
Mee 5 the enormity of the blunder completely took the wind out of our sails.
Taylor 8
Hendrick 7
Westwood 7
Cork 8
McNeil 9
Wood 8
Rodriguez 6
Vydra 7

I was expecting Dyche to play hoofball with Wood back in the team. The opposite was on show, a superb performance only marred by the stupid challenge by Mee.

Why? That's not how we play.

Pope 7 - Not a lot to shot stopping wise, but if there is a better keeper taking crosses, I haven't seen him and this game ably demonstrated that ability.
Bardsley 7 - Injured early on courtesy of a foul not given (Now there's a surprise) and clearly in some discomfort. Total respect for continuing without a replacement on the bench, and up against a tidy winger.
Taylor 7 - The left hand side is our real strength with him and McNeil. Another good performance and I can see why some think he is close to an England call up. Needs to improve actual assists for me.
Tarkowski 8 - Immense against a different type of threat in Dele Alli.
Mee 6 - Tricky one this, 'cos for the most part he was commanding and but poor decision making for the penalty - could he have taken the player just outside the area?
Cork 8 - Up against a mega million midfield and with his mate in midfield commanded the 1st half. Tricky start in the 2nd half but came back well. Consistently good balls to our left hand side and supported them well.
Westwood 7 - Energetic performance and covered for Bardsley well when he was slow getting back. Silly booking for hoofing the ball away.
Hendrick 8 - Not often I say this but he was my MOM for the effort he put in protecting Bardsley, but that was only part of it - used the ball well - I think it was his delightful ball that put Vidra through, and he took a booking for the team.
McNeil 8 - A top class performance. Spurs couldn't cope with him 1st half. Seems to have more of a free rein now so more involved, certainly has more stamina and the cameo towards the end when he did all sorts to the 3 Spurs players before he was pulled back was a season highlight for me.
Rodriguez 6 - Another difficult 1 for me. Excellent movement and use of the ball, his strike proved to be the assist for the goal, but perhaps his loss of possession leading up to the equaliser affected him. Didn't seem as effective afterwards.
Wood 8 - Ran the lines well and, of course, scored a good strikers goal ( although not sure what a bad strikers goal is - perhaps its one scored by Tony Hancock).
Vydra 6 - He came on and we got back in the game. Couple of decent chances and I think he should have scored.
