Car broken into

Been coming Turf Moor by car for 30 years, on returning to car today I found the back window smashed and all contents gone. Was fuming but beside where I park was BB Skip hire. There was a member of their staff outside waiting for me to tell me his boss had caught it on CCTV and passed on his number to contact later.

Now as maddening as it is that 2 little scroats had about a grands worth of stuff out of my car, I find it uplifting that there are still people willing to help and go out of their way to assist me when they didnt need to.

Not from Burnley but would just like to say a big thanks to those at BB Skips.

Well I don't know about you but I always leave my £4k watch in the car when I go on the match.

I am pleased to report that my corned beef sandwich, half a smoothie and a packet of iced buns were intact on my arrival back at my car.

Only some iced buns now remain.

I think they broke into my car too... they took £14 worth of old Pay and Display tickets, magnetic phone holder worth £50, 3 expensive ball point pens and about £2.42 worth of loose change, which when you round up comes to say... £30...

Some right knobs on here, I hope they find the little bastards Clevely but I wouldn't hold your breath. We live in a society where some crimes aren't worth the leg work. Unfortunately that doesn't count when you are the victim.

Someone has his car smashed into. Valuables taken. And many on here may have seen it or be able to help. But instead just mock him.

Same people who probably cry when Donald Trump comes on tv.

Yeah, I saw what happened, know who did it and where they live and would have told the OP, but the opportunity to make a joke about the price of Twixes instead was just too much to resist. I burst into tears whenever I see Trump’s stupid orange face too. How did you know?

Seriously though, folk are having a little fun with the OP as he seems to be using this unfortunate event as a chance to show off about how much expensive stuff he keeps on view in his car. I’m sure if anyone could actually help (like the good folk at BB Skips) then they would.

It wasnt even meant as a negative post.....more a thank you to the people who went out of their way to help when they could have just kept themselves to themselves and not said anything.

Always try to turn a negative into a positive. And regards the idiots questioning why so much was in car, they are just sad

How so? I mentioned how much was in car to show that even such an amount was of little importance and how the help recieved cheered me up. And as regards showing off I was asked you idiot to why so much in car. Please get a life

Yes. We get it. A grand is of little importance to you, with your £160 shades and your £350 watch, because you have so much expensive stuff and such a great life.

Me, on the other hand, I just sit in my dingy bed sit, crying at politicians who appear on my TV.

we park up by the rifle volunteers and sad to say when we returned to our car yesterday the nissan 4x4 or mitsubishi behind me had its side window smashed, obviously some scroats were targeting cars on the day...ive parked there for over 25 years and its the first time ive ever seen this type of incident

Cleveleys, best not to leave anything on display, even worthless clutter. It catches the eyes of scumbags, and in doing so, your car becomes a target.

Cash in pocket at all time tbh. But a grand of valuables can soon add up today I would guess..you only forget your mob. And theres roughly £600 straight away.

He said he left some of his possessions in a car door pocket. Anyway, it's neither here nor there. My point is that clutter, even litter, catches their attention when they quickly glance in while walking by.

We park at the Tennis Club on Belvedere Rd (night games or when the Mrs doesn't want to go shopping) never (touch wood) seen or heard of any break ins there since we have been using it or on Holcombe Drive where we used to park before that...

But my mate had his car broken into in the carpark opposite Queens Park, Queen Victoria Road in the 90's ... all that was in the car and taken was a hold-all with his suit in it... we were playing Liverpool in a League Cup game night match...

No jokes about Scousers and court appearances the next day were made at the time honest

It's less likely, if they are that way out they'll have a do regardless.

I don't have overtly expensive taste, but I could quite go an iced bun with my coffee.

Obviously it's totally wrong that someone broke into your car, but I would never leave anything even slightly on view in my car parked anywhere, and certainly not in the vicinity of Turf Moor, (or any football ground).
Anything in my car goes in the boot out of sight, and anything small and essential such as sunglasses goes in the glove compartment. My "driving" sunglasses are almost valueless anyway but I wouldn't want to tempt fate.
Whilst having sympathy for the victim, was it just his car that was broken into, or were several done on the off-chance that they might all have £1000 worth of goods in them? My guess is that some criminal type was checking loads of cars and didn't just select this one randomly.

I did though also leave bag on display. Although that shouldnt matter really as you shouldnt have parents scoping cars and then sending kids to do the job.

You could have a wad of cash on display, people shouldn't steal it. It's akin to saying that a woman dressed provocatively deserved to be raped.

Again you are putting words in my mouth. I never said a grand isnt a lot for me. Its just what can I do? Why stress about something that cant be changed? The watch was a present off my wife for our wedding as I dont wear rings and was happy with that.

Sorry to hear of the vandalism and theft from your car Cleveleys. No one deserves that and it will make others think when parking their car in that area.
I see absolutely no point in people being 'smart' about the incident

Just filling out online form now and going to go back on Thursday if suitable for the skip guy to video their video as it only stays on system for 15 days and guessing police wont be in a rush to deal with a car break in.

Like I said above this wasnt a post regards what I had it was more how although their are **** people around their are still good people willing to go out of their way to help.

It seemed to be on the road I was parked on. I wont be leaving my gym bag on view again. I hardly travel in my car...home to work which is 1 miles. And to the gym which is 3 miles and well lit and cameras surrounding the car park. I leave gym, throw bag on back seat and sometimes just forget it is there. I wont in the future ha ha
