There are many different kinds of carp. When Noah collected two of each kind, did he stack them in separate tanks in a multi-storey carp ark?

Would it set a new personal best in nit-picking to point out that the Ark didn't carry fish at all? The fish weren't too badly affected by getting wet!

Well obviously.
My guess is they are still there as particles when they are not being observed - who knows. Wonder if I get a physics prize for that conjecture

I asked my ex this. Her rationale was if the cubicles are full, one can stand guard as the other uses it and then she has first dibs on said cubicle. there's logic in there somewhere.

Apparently the particles collapse into a quantum state (whatever that is). This is why they hunted so long for the Higgs bosun because it appears to be the thing that gives sense to reality.
I've been interested in this stuff for 30-odd years and I wish I had the intelligence to even begin to make sense of it. I know a young guy who attended Manchester Uni studying phgysics and he had the pleasure to be in a couple of lectures by Brian Cox, he said whatever people might think of him as a TV personality his intelligence is unbelievable. Even he (the young man in question) didn't understand half of what he was saying and he was studying the damn subject.
PS: my only meeting with the great man was back in the 80s before he was even musically famous, in a local band in Oldham called Dare. We got well p!ssed and the subject of quantum physics never came up.

I'm in the same group of people as you House. I'm very interested in the subject but can't begin to understand it.
At CERN, they have the Large Hadron Collider where they smash atomic particles together to see what happens. (Higgs Bosun) What I don't understand is how they put these particles in the collider in the firsrt place. Maybe I'm just thick?

Interesting - why does the moon not rotate about its axis as it circles Earth.
Also the moon may be a thin disc and - may not have craters on the "dark" side because there is no light to see if they are any.

It does rotate but it is 'tidally locked'. This means that it rotates at exactly the same time it takes to circle the Earth. If it didn't rotate you would see the 'other side' as well.
Incidentally the reason the moon appears to be the same size as the sun in our sky is because the sun is 400 times wider than the moon but, coincidentally, 400 times further away. Fascinating eh?

I’ve long thought that as a weapon of war a country could send up a satellite and open up, when needed, an obstruction directly between the sun and the intended target.
Plunging them into total darkness for the long term.

I could see some potential difficulties with this Trev. Said weapon would have to hang somewhere in the sky to cause the blackout, whilst at the same time allowing for the rotation of the Earth. Otherwise it's a great idea. Oh by the way, what would people die of...depression?

Exactly the opposite has also been proposed. Huge sun reflectors positioned around the globe giving the world permanent daylight.

I'd be intrigued how many satellites are orbiting earth now. Surely the amount must increase the chances of being hit by a stray space rock or do they have the capability to manoeuvre them to avoid collision?

I know your being light but there’s a hell of a lot of suicides in Scandinavia when they go into darkness. I wasn’t thinking deaths just make life difficult for them.

SKYs satellite for British broadcast is in a geostationary orbit, as are 99% of communication satellites.
