On Sunday I went to see The Seven Streams of the River Ota. It was brilliant. I'm not a massive theatre-goer (my eldest is, and took me), but it outstrips anything I've seen before. It's seven hours long, so you need to bring food or consider your outside options (there's a forty-five minute interval in the middle), but as a theatre experience, it's superb.

The longest single length is about an hour and a half, but if you put it in perspective of the players, then if they can do it, so can the audience.

like theatre but never been to anything close to 7 hours, that's a long time but interesting concept, it definitely would need to be good to keep people there.

2 X 20 minute intervals plus a couple of 5 min breaks makes a lot of sense though in addition to the 45 min break.

I'm taking Mrs Croydon to the Royal Opera House at the end of April to see Swan Lake for her birthday.

Like Bosscat, I'm not convinced it will go ahead, whether that be by enforcement or just a decision not to take the risk

I went to see The Warp at The Everyman in the eighties. I think it was twenty hours long. It was split into nights of two hours though so not too bad.

I'm off to see Elvis Costello on Thursday at The Palace Theatre Manchester.

Whilst not strictly theatre, I really hope that it will go ahead.

I saw The Visit at NT last thurs. 3.5 hours, from 7pm. We came out discussing where it could be cut by 60 mins. NT had upgraded our seats, their way of making the audience looking fuller. The seats at NT are some of the comfiest in any London theatre.

But, none best standing on Longside watching the Clarets

Just back from watching Bang Bang at Windsor Theatre a John Cleese comedy farce.Second farce this week the first one on Saturday with Jon Moss's attempt at pretending to be a referee

Booked to see Phantom (again) in Manchester - such a spectacle and thrilling music - back to the original production.
A must see if you haven't been along with the original 'Cats" West End production not the silly film debacle.

Well maybe. I'm not one to worry but I am type 1 diabetic so need to make the correct call, based on risk assessments at the time. Hopefully all be ok

Lots of people "binge watch" box sets on Netflix etc for at least 7 hours and often with very minor comfort breaks.
Edit: Apparently 361,000 people watched all nine episodes of the second season of 'Stranger Things' on the first day it was released.

Quite a regular thing in our house over winter. Spend all day watching entire series. Intermittent interludes for hanky panky, but have been known to watch an entire series in one day when it's cold, wet and windy outside.

I was a little reticent when first invited - but it was broken up nicely, and the play had enough different strands to keep my interest. As others have said the seats are also very comfy there.

I think Les Mis and Phantom are brilliant and judging by the way they are drawing packed houses around the world decades after appearing so do lots of other people.
What would be your recommendation for a night out, if we were allowed that is?
