Re: City v Arsenal postponed
I thought the premier league said they weren’t going to postpone any fixtures due to their being no midweeks free for rearranged games due to Europe and the fa cup? That went well didn’t it. All way over the top. The BBC say it’s 2 weeks since he met the players so surely they all should have symptoms by now if they were infected as they say symptoms show in 5 days.
It’s all just nonsense. I bet football players have shaken hands with countless people in the past who 2 weeks later have had a cold or flu but that never results in a game being postponed.

Re: City v Arsenal postponed
So they now "self isolate" for two weeks
Then another two weeks to get up to being fully "Dyche fit". Clubs will certainly not want to play if first teamers have not trained for some time
Of course footballers are no different to anyone else and if this is one of the consequences of the virus then we have to accept it
Euro Champs likely to be put back or postponed until next summer (if not cancelled altogether)
As for when promotion/relegation of all leagues is decided - who knows

The season is effectively over now.
The knock on of this is massive.

Re: City v Arsenal postponed
There was an article on the BBC yesterday about Coronavirus and the effects on lower league clubs. Accy chairman says he'd rather the entire schedule be postponed. There is a case that playing games behind closed doors could cripple less wealthy clubs as they don't have the TV revenue to fall back on.

This is where the trickle down effects of the big money should come in to help the clubs if they have to play behind closed doors. Provide them all with a revenue that they would normally get from a regular match day. It will be small change to the entire PL and it's a bit of an anomaly in terms of circumstances.

This will be because the Forest/Olympiakos owner has tested positive and attended last weeks match at Emirates. They are still in the 2 week unsure period.

So what now happens with West Ham? They played Arsenal at the weekend AFTER the Olympiakos owner had been in contact with the Arsenal players.

Not sure, but I imagine we'll have 15 pages now of graphs, whinging, crying, and arguing between a few posters.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 9:11 amSo what now happens with West Ham? They played Arsenal at the weekend AFTER the Olympiakos owner had been in contact with the Arsenal players.

Fans can pay to watch games on tv/stream even if we can’t go to games.

But you don’t see as much on tv as you see from half a mile away at the back of St James park.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 9:34 amFans can pay to watch games on tv/stream even if we can’t go to games.

That would be good as Inter blew their chance vs Lazio and Juve recently

It's an interesting point what will happen there, as most of us have already paid to watch the games at TM.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 9:34 amFans can pay to watch games on tv/stream even if we can’t go to games.

Re: City v Arsenal postponed
All Olympiakos players and staff have tested negative for the virus.

I think it's a very strong possibility. I would hope - yes, naive, I know - that the PL would help out clubs in L1 and L2.

I expect it'll only be an issue if any of the Arsenal players are tested positive, but then I imagine it'll be a pretty big issue.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 9:11 amSo what now happens with West Ham?
