F1

Post by tarkys_ears » Thu Mar 12, 2020 11:41 am

McLaren pulled out of Aus GP due to a team member being infected by Corona.

I guess it's probably gonna be cancelled now.

Don't know, but the last I heard was that it was going ahead with the crowds.

F1 said they wouldn't race if anyone pulled out, so we'll see if they stand by what they said.

Gutted, I was really looking forward to this season

It was so obvious.

They never should have travelled.

It should have been cancelled weeks ago .

What a waste for all involved.

The precedent has been set. If in future years anyone connected with any team catches a cold or flu all F1 races, football matches and any other sporting event should be cancelled to stop the risk of anyone catching the cold or flu. Let’s see if the world sticks to that in a year or twos time.

Customer of mine has flown out for a once in a lifetime trip to this. Have to feel for him.

Still not officially clarified but everyone seems to believe it's off. Weird that they've been silent for 12 hours.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is the latest Formula 1 race to be postponed. The street race in Azerbaijan's capital Baku was set to take place on 7 June.

It is the eighth race to be called off at the start of the 2020 World Championship season. The Canadian Grand Prix, on 14 June, is the first race on the schedule that has not been postponed.

There must be major doubts whether any F1 races will happen this season.

Finally the starting gun has been fired for F1 to commence.

Austria will host the first 2 races and there will also be 2 held at Silverstone in early August.

Brilliant news Tiger.

F1’s my second favourite sport. Gutted not to be going to Silverstone this year but glad to have it back on TV.

Hopefully Lewis can make a good start to the season. Austria isn’t his best circuit - not won since 2016 - so maybe slightly disadvantaged in that regard. Hopefully made up for the fact he’ll get two British GP immediately afterwards.

The best thing Sky did was given Car racing its own channel.
Now all we need is for all car related news to be put on the Car channel
