Crystal Palace
Anyone buying a ticket when they go online in a couple of hours time?
I've already bought an expensive first class return train ticket, so I think I'll buy one, although it's highly unlikely that the match will go ahead. I can always get a refund.
I'm hoping the rail companies will be reasonable about issuing refunds in these unusual circumstances.

They won't be.
Re: Crystal Palace
I wouldn't bother buying a ticket yet mate, hardly likely to sell out is it?
Re: Crystal Palace
They haven't gone on sale as per the schedule.

Re: Crystal Palace
Zero chance we’ll be playing on April 4th. I’d focus on your train ticket refund.

The only chance of it being played is probably behind closed doors but even that seems highly unlikely.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 3:41 pmZero chance we’ll be playing on April 4th. I’d focus on your train ticket refund.

Yes I think I' ll try to get my train fare back.
Re: Crystal Palace
Good luck Lakedistrict, like you say it must have cost you a fortune.
Re: Crystal Palace
I got an email from LNER saying I could rebook or get a refund on any ticket I had bought, I would hope other companies are doing the same.

I had Advance Rail Tickets and just claimed them back... normally these are non-refundable but due to Covid19 they are refunding tickets....lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 10:47 amAnyone buying a ticket when they go online in a couple of hours time?

If we don't have any football before the end of May I shall be seriously considering stopping my direct debit.
The players and management should take a pay cut, the money should pay for the existing season tickets holders ticket for 2020/21 season.
Wage bill 65 million a 10% cut should just about cover it

The All England Club are to hold an Emergency Meeting next week to see if it is at all viable to stage this year's tennis championships. The mood is reported as being "downbeat" and the championships were not due to take place until 29th June. It seems almost certain that Royal Ascot will also be cancelled since that starts before Wimbledon.

Re: Crystal Palace
They are refunding train tickets. All the ToCs were refusing to do it for advance tickets until a few days ago and then obviously got told by government or agreed the package with government that allowed them to do it. Of course in the interim they had people rebooking for trains they didn't need so as to avoid the ticket lapsing on the promise they could re-re-book later. And then people who actually needed the trains couldn't find any advance fares. Nothing to do with privatisation before the usual political stuff starts - these were central policies all ToCs were applying.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 10:47 amAnyone buying a ticket when they go online in a couple of hours time?

The unnecessary waste of time owning such trinkets; leave all that sort of thing to the plebs. Just outsource, it's easier.thatdberight wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 1:14 pmHa ha. You skint *******. Imagine having to hire a helicopter. I have to choose which of mine to take.
