You know why?? Because "lockdown" is ultimately just a word (to make people feel safe!)

MINIMUM 6 hour wait to be checked at Chicago today.......then you have to queue another 2-4 hrs to get through immigration, then get your bags - I'd gladly stay at home

The lock down should have been done ages ago like in China. Saying you can’t do this and that but then letting people freely move in and out if the country without checks is a bit pointless.

I’ve a mate in Jerez on a golfing holiday. Now he doesn’t know when he’ll be home.

It should, from day 1 when all this kicked off strong decisive action should have been implemented even as a precautionary measure & nothing else, it wouldn’t have guaranteed a complete wipeout but damn it it would minimised the risk & where we are now could have been delayed & not so widespread. Complacency & the reluctance to act upon danger will end up being costly not just psychically but in other ways as well.

You could be led to think that the powers that be actually want as many people as possible here to become infected!

Repatriation will be ok. Holidays are not.

My partner has a home in Spain, currently occupied by her son. She is supposed to visit him on 1 April! Foolish!

yep..........despite the fact they don't need to rush to get back. Either way, the above is being replicated all over the country and it's exactly the opposite of what the advice is

My bro-in-law was in departures Friday about to board a flight for a holiday booked with Tui months ago. Flights cancelled and they had to return the duty free items they'd purchased!

Been with some Americans over the weekend, their Delta flights to go home had been cancelled.

Update on my mate.
They’d moved on to Costa del Sol are now in hotel lock down, waiting on a Thursday flight home. It’s a €700 fine if caught outside the hotel.

Cheers Trev if there's any further news on your mate in Spain please do keep us all in the loop. Im sure he'll be sensible but you've really worried me now with the revelation he has a €700 fine hanging over him if he makes a slip up.
