O/t Football Manager - touch

Post by 1fatclaret » Sun Mar 15, 2020 11:16 pm

As it's looking like I'll be working from home for the foreseeable future, and there's only so many hours I can spend doing spreadsheets, bullshit forecasts and remote motivational team briefs, I'm looking at how I can fill my time.

Not had a champ / football manager game for a good ten years but am considering this for the ipad pro. Before I spunk £20 on it, just looking for any views as to whether it's worth it or not?

If not, what else do you suggest

Ta

I haven't played FM on the iPad but I played it on the PSP a few years ago, I remember it being a sort of stripped back version of the normal PC edition. The main differences were that it took a lot less time to get through a season and the tactics weren’t as in-depth. If the iPad version is anything like that I’d say it’s still probably worth it if you just want to kill some time and not get too invested.

I would wholeheartedly recommend getting the full version on PC.

I've just purchased champ manager 01/02 (my favourite) but repatched with 2019 squads, due this week and should keep me entertained in isolation if it happens to me.

It's rubbish - don't bother.

The only one worth buying really is the full PC/Mac version

I forget which version belongs to which year, but I remember the original version when you pressed the spacebar to speed the minutes up, especially if you were winning! If you were winning and let the minutes trickle by it would feel like the computer stood more chance of equalizing.

Had all the Football Managers since they broke away from Championship Manager in 2005. Each year it was getting more and more in depth and when I like to have a quick game every now and then it became to long and boring for me to have fun. Since 2017 they have been doing a touch version stripping back all the in depth tactical side of the game and have bought these each year instead of the full game, never tried it on phone or iPad but the touch version for PC is 100% worth it.

Peaked in 2012 for me. After that it started getting far too in depth. Not got into a version since although I have bought every edition. I can't bring myself to buy touch knowing it isn't the full version and the fact I do use the polygon shape on the attributes section means I'm bound to the full version.
