We still had no power when I left for work at 7.15am. Water pressure was extremely low.

Both off at ours, I heard a bang but thought the wind had knocked the bins over.

It looks as though there was a gas explosion on Brownside Road just before the bridge and an electricity sub station explosion on Buttermere Ave. I think it’s safe to say these events are the reason for loss of power and water.

There was an explosion and fire at a substation near Brownside bridge last night. Fire was put out around 5.30 but power is still off in some parts of Worsthorne, others have no water.

I hear there's been a big fire in the factory units down Brun Terrace Brownside around 2am. Whether that had anything to do with the utility problems.
