Imho its absolutely the right thing to do because in the current climate who knows where we may be in 3 weeks time given the fluid nature of the situation

A big blow to the bookies. I thought they might have held it with no spectators.

Any sporting event without spectators, is a waste of time.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 7:21 amA big blow to the bookies. I thought they might have held it with no spectators.

Normally perhaps. At the current time I’d say it’s a welcome distraction.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 12:35 pmAny sporting event without spectators, is a waste of time.
Understandable that’s it’s been cancelled though with the changes yesterday.

100% in normal times any sport behind closed doors would not be right, but the public in general appreciate the unique circumstances happening around the world currently and so would accept I believe sport being played behind closed doors, when it becomes safe to do so.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 12:37 pmNormally perhaps. Yep. Mentioned on another thread, I’m not sure of the viability of it with things changing almost daily and of course footballers are not immune, but if they could find a way of getting football played, even behind closed doors, in the coming months it would give an awful lot of people a lift.
