ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Where is everyone up to on this? Have you renewed, will you renew in the early bird or are you waiting to see if the club does anything different?
I have to be honest and say I will be waiting till the very last moment and will probably renew but I do think the club should look to extend the deadline, given the uncertainty.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Good point but lots of people going to be facing some financial uncertainty in the next few weeks, even 'real' fans. FACT.
I certainly wouldnt decry someone who, facing the choice of a ST renewal or food/mortgage/essential cost, chose to prioritise the essentials over outlaying for something so up in the air.

What about the current direct debits? If for arguments sake the season is cancelled, what happens then?

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
There is only one payment to go and that is next week. Current plan is to finish the season so nothing to do yet, but if the season doesn't finish then we'll have to see what happens then.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Like many others I pay on DD so it just renews automatically unless I cancel which I can't bring myself to do at the moment.
Trying to think positive and have something to look forward to when the crisis is over.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Auto renewed as, luckily, not affected financially by coronabastard.
If we miss some matches this season the club will most likely give credit towards next season's
tickets. Also they may delay taking the direct debits for a month or so for next season to help ease the burden
for those that are affected.
Either way, it's a very difficult environment, but the club will no doubt come up with a solution as soon
as they can.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Renewing is fine just would expect all payments are on hold until normal service resumes.
You may not get to see a live match for 7 months. And the club have enough money to see them through. So why anybody would pay in the meantime is beyond me.
The world needs mugs though.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
I suspect they’ll see what the renewal figures are like in a weeks time and decide on extending the deadline or not then. I haven’t renewed yet, although if push comes to shove I’ll do it at the last minute, but it’s a fair point about those whose livelihood’s are affected by the virus who may not have the cash to spare at the moment even for a direct debit payment. I think given the season will (at best) be extended until the end of June they should be looking to extend the early bird deadline as well.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
The only reason I ask about the current direct debit payment is that I'm about to be put on short time with what's going on. Losing 4/5 days pay a month. Every penny counts.
Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
No way will the season be finished unless it restarts in March 2021.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 1:57 pmThere is only one payment to go and that is next week. Current plan is to finish the season so nothing to do yet, but if the season doesn't finish then we'll have to see what happens then.
The club should extend the deadline for renewing
aswell as saying no further direct debits will be taken until football starts again. Many households will be affected financially by this crisis.
Mortgage payments and rental payments are to be put on hold for 3 months at least and likely much longer.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Can appreciate that - but there is only one payment remaining which should make things easier.

When football returns to gain entry will cost 3 bog rolls ,as bog rolls have become the global currency.

We are heading into positive territory here, not long since you were trying to tell people the world will end and we are all gonna die now you are admitting football will return.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Renewed mine this morning but not sure if I've made the right decision. Other payments may become a priority over the next few months.
But at least the hope of seeing live football again next season is something to look forward to.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
If you don't want to continue with your direct debits and auto renew you need to get the letter back to the club by tomorrow. You can also email them - there's no date set for this but can assume you'd better get it done today/tomorrow

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
I drove past the Park View late this afternoon and it was busy. That convinced me that everything was going to be fine, so I’m renewing.
Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
The fact that people are not heeding the advice makes it more unlikely that football will start again.Claretforever wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 6:30 pmI drove past the Park View late this afternoon and it was busy. That convinced me that everything was going to be fine, so I’m renewing.
When are people going to realise the seriousness of the situation
Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
I was told over the phone by the ticket office that the deadline for sending the email cancellation was 30th March.SalisburyClaret wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 5:41 pmIf you don't want to continue with your direct debits and auto renew you need to get the letter back to the club by tomorrow. Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
I think the problem the club have is about making a decision around the current season payments we have made for games not seen;
The easy problem to resolve is next season and pause taking money for this.
For me, the fairest option should be (which may not be the easiest to manage);
Regardless of what they do - there should be some reassurance that nobody will be out of pocket financially.
- Games postponed until 30th April
- Government have announced today they expect (guess) that it will be 12 weeks before we see the otherside of the peak.
- We don't know how long beyond those 12 weeks the restrictions will last - if the guess is accurate
- The season could be extended indefinitely
The easy problem to resolve is next season and pause taking money for this.
For me, the fairest option should be (which may not be the easiest to manage);
- Allow people on the 12 month contract to amend their DD to be reduced to £1 should they want to commit to next season and have this for the next 3 months with the understanding that from month 4 - the shortfall would be equally spread over the remaining 8/9 months
- Allow people to leave their DD as it is
Regardless of what they do - there should be some reassurance that nobody will be out of pocket financially.
Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
My dd will continue. Life goes on. Something to look forward to.
I do understand that for some, that will not be an option, in the weeks to come.

Be nice if the millionaire players offered to forgo a tiny percentage of their wages to help the situation.
Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
As per usual you either misquote or leave bits outs, as in the... Nobody knows... Which followed the quote above.,which three weeks ago was very relevant, whereas your claim we'd have thousands of deaths by now isnt
Anyway this discussion should be on another thread, which lots of people have already left because of your outrageous claims.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
I am happy to leave my DD running but for those who are economically/financially impacted, the club should be acting quickly to assist those people and making them aware of what their options are.
That is not a criticism of the club because they are probably working through things and could already be helping people that have already been in contact.
With the power/speed of their media channels - I can't see how it can't be done swiftly when they have agreed a way forward.

With multiple tickets in hospitality I really don't want to continue paying 500 a month without the footy on. I will be asking payments to be paused for the upcoming season until we know what is happening.
For all the paupers in the stands it shouldn't be such of a big task to carry on with payments.

Be it £500 a month or £30 per month, it makes no difference, but to refer to others as "paupers" indicates that you are a bellend Sir

Patronising people like yourself saying the pandemic still allows you to pay your 30 pounds a month don't understand others situations only shows your tunnel vision. If I knew your seat number I'd have you banned.Barry_Chuckle wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 8:37 pmWhat an arrogant post.

If anybody knows the clown in row S seat 127 of the cricket field stand please say hi from me when the football resumes in 2021.
And he continued his direct debit and is now in tatty clothes because he didn't listen to people with more sense than money.

You're embarrassing yourself now
You are correct on one thing though, I have continued my D/Debit, and it appears that I'll be able to utilise the seat when footy returns seen as my ban never materialised.

Re: ST Renewals - General Concensus?
Very hard to see how the players can still be paid millions while fans and broadcasters want their money back.
It isn’t normal employment, it may be legally but if people start dying in their thousands and getting unemployed in their millions it will feel different to see all those Bentleys continue to cruise into the car park.
Relevance to season tickets? It feels like this whole business model is hanging on a thread and I for one struggle to see business as usual in 2020/21. It feels like something major will change, once the virus has passed, the whole mood will be different. I’m very wary of committing that much dosh in the meantime. None of us may have much left by then.
