Well done Stockport County
I never thought I'd start a thread with this title but ......
Stockport County have donated £75,000 to the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund, to help towards the treatment of Coronavirus patients within the local community in these difficult times.

Re: Well done Stockport County
Let us be specific here CT, The multi-millionaire owner has made the donation in the club's name - Stockport do not have this money to donate - he subsidises their existence,
I have no issue with him making the donation - though I suggest that NHS is about to generate a lot of additional funding (both from government and the general public) probably at the expense of many vulnerable groups in society who will need such funding more than ever during this time

It's a fair point, Chester, I can see many charities, for example, being absolutely hammered by all this.
We'll need them again one day !

Lets not be specific, lets just appreciate and applaud a great gesture whoever it was by and whoever's name it was given in

He's still donated it in their name to be fair and it is a fantastic gestureChester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 3:03 pmLet us be specific here CT, The multi-millionaire owner has made the donation in the club's name - Stockport do not have this money to donate - he subsidises their existence

Re: Well done Stockport County
like I said I have nothing against the donation - just do not like the publicising of such donations to enhance profile/reputation, that just turns it into an opportunistic pr exercise then - if everybody who did make a donation went public it would cause social media to break down - I reserve "fantastic" gesture or otherwise to people like Speedo Mick and our own Scott Cunliffe though (I may add a bit mad also but their efforts truly were fantastic)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 3:20 pmHe's still donated it in their name to be fair and it is a fantastic gesture
I would also put your own effort contribution to the foodbank above this donation

I used to have that exact attitude but realistically who cares weather they do it to look good, if those that are most in need benefit, let them crack onChester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 3:28 pmlike I said I have nothing against the donation - just do not like the publicising of such donations to enhance profile/reputation

Re: Well done Stockport County
I see Ben Mee and BFC was in the press talking about their donations and support towards the current crisis. That guy will do anything to raise his profile and try and get himself in the England team
