I think the thing is, with collectable items, is that they are only worth anything when when people are prepared to pay for them. In another 20 years, when most of the Beatles' original fans have passed away, it may not be worth as much as it is today, although I could be wrong.
If I had anything by the Beatles, Elvis, or anyone like that, I'd be selling it now.....

Sensible advice.
You only need to look at the cigarette card market for evidence. The "famous film stars" sets drop in value when nobody can remember who most of them were, but those with boats trains etc on maintain theirs.
