Your post virus party plans.
Your post virus party plans.
We were discussing this at work Friday and how lovely it will be when we can hug and shake hands etc. So what will yours be like ? Some suggestions at work such as the obvious Corona beer, music by the Vaccines, toilet roll napkins, saniTIZER etc. A bit bizarre but we just wanted to look forward.

If you plant some seeds of a certain type they will be ready in 10 - 12 weeks. Tomatoes obviously.

Mainly for old people who had underlying health conditions and were therefore susceptible to most viruses (such as flu), but I take your point.
The fact is, some will mourn but most will not.

It was tongue in cheek to a degree for the op.But nobody ....nobody knows the outcome yet. But china apparently are apparently making progress not sure if the epicentre wuhan is still in lock down. But if we the british people dont follow certain guidelines the party is a long way off.box_of_frogs wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 8:37 amMainly for old people who had underlying health conditions and were therefore susceptible to most viruses (such as flu), but I take your point.

There will be a worldwide recession after the virus passes. It will be on a scale never seen. Millions of businesses bankrupt. You might not be able to afford a party.

Hate to sound a bore and slightly selfish but have to admit I’ll just be happy if my friends and family are all still here.
I still think the majority are under estimating it

Re: Your post virus party plans.
Italy has the highest number of very old people in europe. Especially the Lombardy region. That partly explains their high death rate. Also we can learn from china/italy and are that much closer with drugs (not a vaccine).....I am still annoyed at how lightly some take this though and the government must keep up the grim messages. I think many people will crack in a week or 2 unless very stiff penalties are introduced for breaking curfews etc.

Re: Your post virus party plans.
You are misunderstanding the facts if you think only older people with health issues will die. In Italy Doctors are dying and there are not old. Other patients will die with unrelated conditions because the NHS will be unable to treat them, I hate to be the prophet of gloom but the next few months will be the roughest ride since the blitz. I really hope we will be able to get through this and celebrate

I'm bloody sure they are.
Whatever people's party plans are, I think they're going to have to wait awhile.
Re: Your post virus party plans.
Amazing to think there are people thinking of a party at the end of this. We have a long year ahead, and the virus may come back in winter by all accounts.
I echo CT’s sentiments. If any of us come out of this having not lost a loved one, you will have done well.

How true and I just hope all those not taking this seriously could read those few words of Tsarbomba and reflect on them.TsarBomba wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 2:24 amAmazing to think there are people thinking of a party at the end of this. I know it was the Sun but there are apparently 3 30yr old doctors in London on life support and the outlook for them looking at the Chinese data of the outcomes of those ventilated is extremely poor, with death rates apparently on the 3 published results of something like 60, 70 and over 90% deaths

I'm sorry but I do not agree with the doomsday prediction that most of us will lose a loved one. I think it's scaremongering of the highest order and comments like that should be ignored

Re: Your post virus party plans.
Well it's an opinion. What do you base it on? Hopefully the new line will crack on top of this. But it will be 2 weeks before we see numbers falling. This is the problem with this strategy- we only know if it works after the 7-14 days it takes for cases to present. If last week didnt crack it enough there are potentially loads of people "in the system" that we don't know yet. Could be 3-4000 deaths before it turns.
