Was stood next to Claret till i die when Pato unleashed his rocket, we weren't far off the trajectory.

One thing i can report is that it was one hell of a melee after it hit the net :)

I was in line but a hit higher up in the stand. It was one of those that you knew was on target but you can’t quite believe until it hits the back of the net. Then boy did we believe!

I was about 8 rows from the front and in line with the six yard box at the side of the post that beautiful, immaculate strike bent inside. Without doubt the most mental celebration of a goal I’ve ever been involved in.
I also totally lost it when Barnes scored his last minute winner v Palace at the Turf. Ran down the aisle from Row K in the JHL and jumped up and down on the wall at the front ... I was 56 at the time !

Awful commentary on that link! Didn't even get the goal scorer right. Think the Gary Birtles version is iconic.

It curled so expertly into the corner that a good arc of us in the away end felt we were "right behind it" - it made us feel we were all "right behind it".

I think that the most thrilling goal I've ever seen when all the factors are put together.

Difficult to think of a more complete 90mins performance from a Burnley team. Considering what rode on the result and the fact we were away, after they had been the better side first leg. The quality of both goals was the icing on the cake.

Burnley vs Middlesbrough

They really thought they were "better" than us and to be fair, they played better on the night. But they couldn't beat us, even when they threw it all at us and we weren't quite at our best.

The league table told the true story.

23, 23 undefeated.

If you watch the crowd you see that they almost celebrate in a wave as people realise it's going in. Starting behind the goal and then going outwards.

Around that time, I was a collector for the bit of a lottery that the club was running. "Clarets Revival" You paid a quid and could win a grand. I used to hand over my collectings at the club office every friday after work. The woman I handed over to, Jim Thompson's wife, still is, nice woman. She said all the staff had been given their months statutory notice , should we not beat the the drop. From her, to the tea lady, Jimmy Holland players the lot.

I also believe that the ground was, semi, ear marked by morrisons as a site for one of their supermarkets. As we stayed up, they chose nelson instead.

I know a lots been said about the Orient Game , but I still believe it's one, of, if not, the most important games in the clubs great history.

When Ings scored at Deadwood a WPC was seriously concerned about my health and repeatedly kept checking I was ok. I’m not sure whether she thought I was going to have a heart attack or if she feared my head would explode.

My thoughts at the time exactly.
Prob my most celebrated.
Not wanting to sound like it's a dig or look at me I was there...but reading away was for me better than Wembley and i you can only surely get that feeling if you were there to witness it.
Remember waiting outside long after the players had gone back in, for my dad and his pal and we just had a massive 4 way hug and it felt great. 😂
The whole day had every emotion going.

I was there, second or third row back, just in from the aisle. As the ball shot towards us, me and the folks either side actually started to take evasive action, certain it was going to clatter us.
In the ensuing chaos, as mentioned above, a couple of us ended up by the pitch. Luckily, the steward so us get forced onto the playing area and was quite good about it and let us back. I'd have been gutted to miss the rest of that night.

I watched the game at home with my son and daughter. As Pato advanced with the ball, Wade had made a great run down the right. My words were apparently ' Where's he going, what's he doing?' Then a silence just for a second and then .................

For the Pato goal like a few others I was sat between the goal post and the six yard box line on the second or third row from the front. When Pato first hit it I thought wtf is he doing shooting from there and it looked like it was going wide. Next thing it’s in the net about four or five yards away from me. It was incredible in every possible way. My mate was about six rows behind and I clambered through the throng and over the seats busting my specs en route.

Consequently I didn’t see Thommo’s goal too well😀

I was at the top of the away end nearer to the centre (but paradoxically right behind it when he let fly) and I was on my feet yelling "Dont shoot - pass it to Blake!" as Robbie had made a brilliant run into space on the left.

Thank goodness he didn't hear me.

A couple of goals I remember:
Luton away in the old first division in 1974. Listening to up dates on the radio and we must have scored a late winner to make it 3-2. I remember literally hitting the roof!
Another that many on here will remember is Glen Little’s winner against Bristol Rovers at the Turf. I got knocked over and ended up 3 rows in front.

I can't believe there's no footage of that game when they knew it was a title decider. The same goes for the Preston game in 1973, when Burnley needed a point for the second division title and Preston needed one to avoid relegation.
