Refunds on rail tickets
I’d booked rail tickets for the Crystal Palace game and I know some on here have done likewise and also for West Ham two weeks later.
We are now able to get refunds.

Re: Refunds on rail tickets
I booked mine via Trainline rather than Avanti because it was £3.50 cheaper so I’ll have to wait for their email.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:45 pmThere’s a link on their twitter feed. I’ve just applied for refunding tickets on the 4th April.

Re: Refunds on rail tickets
If you booked via Trainline, you can now go into the App and get a refund by going into 'Manage your Booking' and selecting refund. Mine done and told I would receive it within five working days.
Re: Refunds on rail tickets
I've tried doing that with the Avanti app but it just tells me that advance tickets are non refundable. Seems like Avanti are dragging their feet a bit. I've contacted them via their website, it gave me a message saying that I would receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes and that customer services would be in touch in 7 days time.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 2:09 pmIf you booked via Trainline, you can now go into the App and get a refund by going into 'Manage your Booking' and selecting refund. I never received the confirmation email.

Re: Refunds on rail tickets
I think I posted it further up the thread, I actually booked mine with Trainline because it was around £3 cheaper than Avanti, something that was never the case with Virgin West Coast. It's only today that I've been able to do the refund on there but it was a very simple process on my phone.Targetman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 2:51 pmI've tried doing that with the Avanti app but it just tells me that advance tickets are non refundable. If you booked directly, you should be able to do it via their website.

Re: Refunds on rail tickets
I've already tried their website. When you scroll down the page they give you a link for Advance ticket refunds.
However the link just brings up a form which I already mention in my post above. It asks for your email address and booking ref no. When you submit this form it then tells you that you will receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes that you you have submitted it to them.
It also says customer services will contact you in 7 days time.
I never received the confirmation email, have re-submitted the form again today but once again failed to get the confirmation email as promised.

Re: Refunds on rail tickets
I did a few of these the other night and did get the email although it was useless- just a ref number that didn't even include the details of my request so if they say I didn't make the refund claim, it'll be the usual shite with Avanti...Targetman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 3:51 pmI've already tried their website.
