Calm Down

Post by Hibsclaret » Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:47 am

Everybody calm down ffs....

For the last few weeks every conversation has been “we're running out of this, we need that, we need to plan this, we need to go out for that....”

At least now we should be able to sit tight and not panic....and not spread this disease about as much, you would hope.

Everybody stay safe because the last thing you want is to catch it....and pass it on to your nearest and dearest..

I've never seen as many headless chickens as I have over the last couple of weeks, well said Hibs, but you know in your heart it will never happen.

Funnily enough the debt will be the biggest since the 2nd world war. Rather than the financial meltdown which resulted in 'austerity ' for the masses.

After the war, huge further investment was implemented- homes for all etc. Harold Macmillan even, famously, said, "You've never have it so good!"

We paid off the debt during Tony Blair's time. It really demonstrates that in capitalism, it is all irrelevant, as long as folk work, live and pay tax.

Austerity was the Tory way to suppress the masses, cut wages and keep us dodging caps, while others coined it.

For this crisis - especially for relieving families and feeding people - they can just create money (even a new time limited currency), and as long as price controls and rationing is in place, it won’t lead to inflation. Then it won’t also pile up the debt. As I said, we’ve got ourselves a sports car, when actually we need to do some off roading.
