Do you believe China's figures?

Seems pretty low considering the size of their population, how they live etc.
Yes..because an authoritarian state and an outbreak heavily concentrated in one area sound like a recipe for successful containment.

Glad to see you're moving to the same losers argument of, you're spelling and grammer is so bad ignoring context.

but do have a great weekend and stay safe xx
Before you criticise others for their spelling and grammar, perhaps you should note your own? For a start, your first ten words should have ended with a question mark, and then a new sentence. Sentences should also start with capital letters, and your misuse of the word 'you're' instead of 'your' stands out a mile.

Just a thought. ;)

America has done a u turn on face masks now advising all citizens to wear them.
But Trump after announcing this in his press conference says he will not be wearing one as it’s not the right thing for “great presidents, kings, queens etc”

Those few words pretty much sum up Donald Trump. The guy is a complete and utter tool who is motivated purely by power and money and is not prepared to listen to anyone else who differs from his own views.

It was more about him asking the American public to do it - presumably on the advice of his medical experts - and then saying he wasn’t going to wear one because he was one of the “great” presidents !

It is highly significant in expressing the impact of the disease on a country. There does seem to be an expert agreement that raw numbers are more useful in expressing the progress of an outbreak.

Why
Why its not useful to factor in population sizes is covered in section 2 of the video linked below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lm3MWTVAK0

A good way to think of it is in the early months the virus will spead at roughly the same pace in all country's depending on the strategy and approach taken.

Eventually smaller countrys will start to run out of groups of susceptible people to catch the virus and the volumes will level out and start to stop. In contrast in larger countrys like the US the numbers will continue to grow and grow unless a vaccine is found at which stage all countrys can start to reduce volumes

If you have Twitter this is the guy in the video and does brilliant daily analysis

Last thing I read about him was that the unproven miracle drug to cure Covid-19 that he had been pushing was linked financially to his family and one of his major political donors

So in summary business as usual

maybe you smart people better start praying and hoping he is much better than you think.

It's never easy for any leader given what is normally required but in todays world the USA has (like all) had two very big hits, the Virus involving deaths and illnesses plus the economy. Regarding the economy in one week 6.6 million applying to SS and unemployment, so far over 16 million as a couple of days ago, here in Texas over 1.7 million calls regarding unemployment in a single day, average is around 375/day. The world is going in to a big recession, worse than 2008 even worse than 1989 is being predicted. If you don't think the USA will be what the world and particularly Europe/UK are looking to in regard to kick starting the economy, well I wont finish that but if it gives you great pleasure to take your cheap shots at his hair and his face, just carry on while people are dying and the economy tanks. Me I'm worrying about my family and the future, particularly my children and grandchildren.

At least it will give many of you the opportunity to jump back on the austerity bandwagon and continue the hatred because it is not going to be pretty.

This is an interesting point to make. It seems to amount to “you can’t accuse Trump of being incompetent and corrupt, because the fact that he’s incompetent and corrupt is bad for the world, which includes you”.

Has anyone ever put forward a weaker argument than “it gives you great pleasure to take your cheap shots at his hair and his face, just carry on while people are dying and the economy tanks”? How many posts on this thread have even mentioned his hair or face before you brought them up? And isn’t the point at which the economy tanks and people are dying exactly the time when we should be criticising those in charge?

It says a lot about the guy when this is the best his defenders can manage.

Last I heard he was blaming the Head of World Health Organisation and pointing out how much America pay into it compared to China. He’ll no doubt now do what he has done repeatedly since he became President - cut the American contribution to anyone that has upset him.

Before that he was telling everyone to wear masks but not wear himself as it’s not right for great presidents, kings and queens. Though to be honest I thought that face was a mask...and it had been Bob Hope behind it for all those years. Hats off to Donald for being that naturally funny.

He’s not bathshit crazy at all - and no I don’t hope he is better than I think he is....but I do pray he is not as crazy as I think he is.

Its attitude to, and subsequent treatmemt , of Taiwan will be interesting.

Taiwan said it had been denied access to vital information as the coronavirus spread. The WHO rejects this.

Taiwan is excluded from the WHO, the United Nations health agency, because of China's objections to its membership .

The Chinese Communist Party regards Taiwan as a breakaway province and claims the right to take it by force if necessary.

Also on other issues, they've previous -

I wouldn't know the answer to that question, I am not his supporter, I think he has done a reasonable job for Americans up to the crisis, the jury is out on how we come out of the crisis and how he helps getting out of the economical fallout, we wont know the answers to that for quite a while.

What I am a supporter of is telling people when they name call like children when it adds nothing whatsoever and blame others for something, just because they jump on a bandwagon and want to get a like without even understanding circumstances. Then point of your statement regarding "on here" was really well thought out and should get you loads of likes and replies but then again they wont be his supporters will they and can therefore be completely discounted!

That’s half a woooosh !
I am pretty sure that all he was asking was whether any of his supporters on this board believed he was doing a good job in the crisis.
As you can see he has got no likes because it was just a normal question....nothing to see here.

Interesting programme on Netflix on his son in law and their family. It’s the first one (I think) of the Dirty Money series.
I’d say like father like son in law but old Donald looks like a loveable old rogue compared to his son in law and his own family.

Markets recovering in the US?

Biggest weekly gain for US shares in 46 years

Wall Street's S&P 500 share index has risen 12% this week, as the US central bank announced more stimulus measures to support the economy.Financial markets have experienced extreme volatility as the economic impact from the coronavirus has worsened. Many markets, including those in the US, are closed on Good Friday.

On Thursday, the Federal Reserve - the US central bank - said an additional $2.3 trillion was available to support debt markets, saying it would act "forcefully, pro-actively, and aggressively" to combat an economic tidal wave.

The strong words came after data showed US jobless claims jumped by 6.6 million, taking the three-week total to more than 16 million unemployed and seeking benefits.

This says that President Trumps interventions and also which is not discussed is the oil price rebound after he intervened between Russia & KSA just might mean he is doing something helpful, but that fit's with none of your narratives does it? I posted further up about the economy and jobless but no one bothered to actual try to respond to that and what might be an issue for everyone in the world, ohh no much easier to find things wrong you could blame him for. But I'm sure you'll all be very busy scouring the news to find something else you imagine he has failed at, I don't disagree it's out there, but if it's not go back to his fake tan, his hair, you can keep bullying like the childish mob you are, easiest thing in the world to criticize, and you're all masters of it, proven over years.

That’s half a woooosh !
I am pretty sure that all he was asking was whether any of his supporters on this board believed he was doing a good job in the crisis.
As you can see he has got no likes because it was just a normal question....nothing to see here.
I’d saythe reply to my post was bizarre but to be fair it’s just par for course.

Must be all those top level government briefings she’s on.

Trumps latest rating is 49% which is his highest ever. So I guess some people think he is doing a good job !
Thanks for that.
Doesn’t answer my question but thanks anyway.

I guess I should have said 51% disapprove of the job he is doing ( it’s actually 49% ) then you would have had the answer you we’re looking for.
