Crazyville.
Trump knows if he loses he's going to jail next year. A coup is the only means by which he can secure his freedom. Well...I don't know if an autocrat can ever be considered a 'free' person, but it secures freedom from imprisonment at the very least.

Not Trump’s words (my link), but one of his minions, though it astounds me no less at the level to which it has sunk. Talk like that would have been inconceivable before he took office.

I'm not astounded, Andrew. He's always been too simple to understand, or even care for the consequences of his actions, and there has always existed factions for whom obeisance to democratic principles is but a means to maintaining legitimacy in a world which (recedingly) demands it. The UK is no different: there are vandals in this country every bit as rabid and as simple, though we're far, far behind the curve in terms of the the number of indecent b@stards bold enough to actually try pulling such a thing off - and we have a Queen, God bless her, who could put an end to such unconstitutional shenanigans. A more savage indictment on America would be the scale of the support such behaviour can muster. Were it not him, it would be some other unscrupulous tw@t selling the same poison to a base which is baying for it. You can't talk about Trump without talking about the people who enable him, and that starts with voters. I hope history doesn't lay the decline and fall of the American empire solely at Trump's doorstep. Every person casting a ballot for him is culpable for what becomes of US democracy, US hegemony, US soft power, the opportunities made available to those said, their prosperity, the peace (or otherwise) of their communities, their health, their freedoms etc. I've been saying this a lot recently but people get what they bloody deserve. It's just a shame for everyone else caught up in the riptide.

The absolute state of right wing political opinion right now. What an embarrassment.

Racism, corruption, treason, sabotaging democracy, stochastic terrorism, all that is OK as long as it upsets the libs.

Imagine if in the 30s someone said "I really hope Hitler gets voted in again just to trigger all the Jews" because that's what we're dealing with when it comes to trump. An authoritarian using democracy to become a dictator. But as long as he upsets the libs people such as right-winger are OK with all the fascism.

I'm sure some of you on here are quite right wing and conservative without also being OK with fascism just to upset people you disagree with, and to you people I can only offer my sincere sympathies at what is happening to your wing of the political spectrum.

We can continue our fight between left and right, capitalism and socialism, liberalism and conservatism afterwards but for now it looks like we're gonna have to work together again to defeat the fascists for a second time.

Those little victories you chalk up in your empty little head - petty ones...feigned irreverence, performed in a way full of outward bravado - it's all a form of masturbation on your part. You're stroking up and down and up and down your own psyche, and assuring yourself that the bitterness to life which you harbour, and which you know you harbour, is righteous, and you've been convinced of its righteousness because you've found an imaginary friend in the form of a political leader from America and he has told you that your bitterness is righteous, and that devotion to your imaginary friend which has supplanted your innate impulse to religiosity now manifests as your lips, metaphorically speaking, wrapped around a 74-year old man's penis. Have you even been on the Turf, you weird Yank?

Wow so Donald Trump is now a facist. The liberal media really have been working on to create such an image. Trump may be many things but he ain’t no facist.

The liberal left will never learn that all
Of their smear campaigns come back to bite them.

Hilarious is Trump gets voted in again, same with a Boris getting his internal market bill through and a no deal
Brexit. It would be like lighting multiple touch papers for the snowflakes...

Oh please happen, it would be utterly joyous to watch the meltdown.

No. He's not a fascist, but he's doing fascism because it's convenient to his interests. His AG though, that guy is actually a fascist.

And if you're on his side then you're a fascist sympathiser, because you support someone doing fascism.

I trust you don't bother wearing a poppy in November given how much you seem to support the ideology of our enemies, not to mention that he thinks the people for whom we wear them are "suckers" and "losers", according to the guy you support.

What are you going on about?

Trump isn’t a facist or doing facist things. He’s playing up to his supporter base like all politicians do. He hasn’t oppressed anyone or dictated anything. In fact if you looked a little harder he’s actually done quite well harbouring peace with hostile nations/leaders.

No one cared 2 hoots about Trump until he was a threat to the establishment when he was running for president.
That’s when the smear campaigns started. Yes Trump is no angel, but he isn’t the devil reincarnated that his opponents would make you believe either.

Trump knows it doesn’t matter what he does, he just has to tell his supporters what they want to hear and they’ll lap it up.

Take the coronavirus, nobody in their right mind could seriously argue he’s done a good job. It’s been a disaster. However just keep saying they’ve done a fantastic job and they’ll eat it up. Pretend you didn’t say it was a hoax, ignore that you actually game out with that idea about the bleach and light etc.

We live in extraordinary times.

Nobody thinks it's fake news [stupid phrase], just that the virus is nowhere as dangerous as it was reported to be earlier.

It's called 'Black propaganda'. Tell people thinks often enough and no matter how ridiculous it might be, they start to believe it. America in particular has been doing it for years.

I'm a bit busy at the moment, although I keep jumping on here. Give me a while and I'll find some. There are hardly any scientists that agree with Ferguson the epidemiologist whose much criticised study shaped and continues to shape government policy regarding C-19.

That is untrue, but even if it was why are you being so selective? Why are you only talking about people who are otherwise healthy? By that same standard the flu is harmless because only those who die from the complications it causes are susceptible to dying due to those complications.

It's a frankly ridiculous standard you're using for determining the lethality of a virus.

The virus is indeed harmless to a lot of people, just like the flu is harmless to a lot of people.

What would you suggest, though? Let's imagine for a moment you have a fair point, are you suggesting that we should just go about our lives as normal? Why about all those people for whom the virus isn't harmless? Is it "tough ****, get ded" for those people? What exactly is the point in your argument that the virus is only harmful to those who are already ill? If that was true, so what?

The countries that jumped on this from the beginning with effective test, track, and trace are the ones that suffered the fewest deaths, and the smallest of economic hits. In downplaying the virus, Trump made a huge mistake. It’s also interesting that whereas he didn’t want to panic people over the virus, he’s very happy to try to panic them over immigrants, Muslims, BLM. the Occupy Movement, and postal voting. So far Covid has killed over a hundred and fifty thousand Americans, and his bogeymen very few.

YouTube: Mike Yeadon. I challenge the government to back up their belief there will be a second wave.

The hilarity of challenging the government to back up their belief of a second wave.......just today I watched an interview with someone that has just caught it for the second time. All these people that say it's a hoax - you truly believe that every Government, every doctor and nurse, every person that has died and all their families are in on it AND they are producing a fake vaccine ??

It's also a hoax that every other country in the world is in on. They all locked down and destroyed their economies just to perpetuate a big prank.

It's also a hoax that every other country in the world is in on. They all locked down and destroyed their economies just to perpetuate a big prank.
And all the airlines, and sports teams etc etc

They'll come with the "yeah but it's not as bad as they are saying next"
"They are putting it down as covid if you die from cancer"

They might be, but they are Massively under testing to get a true reflection of what is going on.

Take your chances by all means but if you or you family "hoax" die then I'll have zero sympathy

What's that got to do with anything you've previously claimed?

I'm happy to devote the 12 minutes of my day to watching it after you adequately explain the relevance.
If you don't watch it, you won't find out. And before you suggest it, I do not subscribe to any of the crazy conspiracy theories regarding C-19.

I just watched it, reasonably interesting but mostly leading to this one line - his best line that probably 30-50% of us might not get it

So flip a coin and hope for the best ?

Had to laugh at Trump's explanation for the California fires. ''Bad forest management'', ''it'll get cooler you'll see'' but my favourite, referring to Australia's fires.... '"They have very explosive trees''

You have to laugh-

“ A fundraising ad for US president Donald Trump’s re-election campaign reportedly used a stock photo featuring Russian fighter jets and weapons as part of a call for viewers to “support our troops”.

The ad, which has since been removed, was made by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, which is run by the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Trump campaign. The stock image shows five soldiers in silhouette against a sunset as the three planes fly overhead.

Pierre Sprey, who helped design US Air Force planes, told Politico the jet featured in the ad is “definitely a MiG-29”, as did the director of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies in Moscow, Ruslan Pukhov.

“I’m glad to see it’s supporting our troops,” said Sprey. Pukhov pointed out that at least one of the soldiers in the image was also carrying Russian-made AK-74 assault rifle”

Sorry, but unless you explain the relevance of what it is you're telling me to watch I'm not going to devote 10 minutes of my day to watching it.

Youve made certain claims in this thread, and you've not explained what claim you believe this video supports. If you can't, or won't do that then it's fair for me to assume the video is irrelevant to what you've previously argued and you are wasting my time.

Like I said I'm willing to give it my time, but it's your job to explain why I should.

Don't waste your precious time, then. I couldn't give a damn whether you watch it or not.

I accept this admission that it has nothing to do with what you had claimed.
