Jack Tomlinson R.I.P.
Sad to say that I heard earlier this afternoon that Jack had suddenly passed away.
Jack was a frequent traveller with Boundary Clarets and was much loved on the coach, he was a gentleman.
I am not going to speculate on how and why he passed away but a sad loss to the Claret family
Rest In Peace Jack Tomlinson

How long was he travelling with Boundary? The name doesn’t ring any bells but sad news to hear of the death of a claret.

RIP Jack a true Claret......was an electrician by trade, we first met in the 70’s at Mullard Simonstone, then again late 80’s / 90’s at John Cotton Colne, then paths crossed again years later as we waited for the Boundary Clarets coach pick up at Lane Head think the game was Barnsley.....great guy always up for a laugh.....very sad news.

Re: Jack Tomlinson R.I.P.
Just to Add to this thread.....Big supporting clarets Ken "moggy" murgatroyd from The Turf moor Area....And Mick Hartley from Barnoldswick passed away last week. Ken was getting on a bit but a real funny guy knew his football and had a dry sense of humour.Mick unfortunately passed away in Christie's last week after a very short illness that took us all by surprise.A larger than life character. Youd see him at most away games all ways bumped into him at spurs for some reason....lovely guy as was ken.taken at a young age. He worked for silent night.both will be missed.RIP.

I was gutted to hear about Mick. Really was a top bloke and a great character. I hadn't even realised he was ill, but as you say it sounds like one of those that took everyone by surprise and happened very quickly.
RIP to them all.

Re: Jack Tomlinson R.I.P.
I recognised the name and was wondering if it was Jack from Cotton’s. Jack was one of my Dad’s friends and managers... so I grew up with him like a part of our extended family. My dad will be devastated it’s only weeks since he lost his other closest colleague, Donald Brooksbank.MarbellaClaret wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 8:47 amRIP Jack a true Claret......was an electrician by trade, we first met in the 70’s at Mullard Simonstone, then again late 80’s / 90’s at John Cotton Colne, then paths crossed again years later as we waited for the Boundary Clarets coach pick up at Lane Head think the game was Barnsley.....great guy always up for a laugh.....very sad news.
R.I.P Jack, Raymond and his family send their heartfelt love to the family at this awful time.
God bless.

Re: Jack Tomlinson R.I.P.
Ken Murgatroyd was my first experience of structured football at the Thomson Centre in the early 80s. Sad that these guys won’t get a proper send off. Hopefully when this is all over there’s something done. And No I’m talking about a 90 minutes applause. I don’t think people will need too much encouragement to gather for a pint, which is all that’s needed.

Re: Jack Tomlinson R.I.P.
I remember Ken coaching me at a soccer school at Bank Hall when I was about 7 years old.
He then was at Worsthorne FC when I played in the Youth Team and took us for training on the Astro turf at Towneley with the First Team and Reserves. He definitely put us through our paces!
RIP to him and all the Clarets who’ve passed away recently.
