Perhaps this guy was suffering from some sort mental problems before being told by the police to stay away and go home..I will agree with FF and say £1000 as well

age old question, deterrents need to be meaningful, we will all have different thoughts I suspect but why would anyone who is warned by police continue to act in the same way. For me and maybe more of the older generation I always felt we were more respectful of the police than the younger generation but here you go, another example of not so, he was no spring chicken at 53.

It’s just something we will all have to get used to especially the longer it goes on, by nature & habit you tend not to think when you’ve been doing something 1 set way for years without thinking about the virus & all the safety measures, I did it unintentionally myself the other day until reminded & didn’t repeat, it will be abused no doubt to generate money in SOME circumstances but it’s essential the rules aren’t breached. Just hope it’s effective in stopping the spread & not just used to tax people.

You have a thing with the police trying to make money don’t you Jakub ?!!!

In seriousness I don’t think the police will abuse the social distancing fines - they have a 4 stage process at the moment (“the 4 Es) which basically gives plenty of warning and guidance to people which gives them a few chances to comply before they are fined.
If anything that’s too lenient for me as it’s very clear to everyone the importance of distancing - and the police are pushed enough to have to give people so many opportunities. Remember this is police many of which are still without PPE and they are having to stand close to these idiots - many of which are abusive.

I’m pretty sure that’s not how it’s being done in Italy and Spain with their police - and they wouldn’t get several chances in America either

The worrying thing is you actually think that articles proves you are right and that you still had to get a dig in about police potentially abusing the social distancing fines without having any real clue about the process.

1K for the first offence. Anyone flouting the restrictions, without good reason, should forfeit their 80% if they are indeed being paid to stay at home.

Many of these numpties who flout the rules and regulations won't have the means to pay
the fines anyway or will pay out of their benefits i.e. the country paying itself.

A stint of hard labour, delivering goods to the elderly or sim and a good kick in the
nether regions, every hour on the hour.

Bags I get first go.

Leave him be TVC, let him make his points and let them lie fallow. Don't give him any more ammo.
If you've seen CT's thread about what he has to put up with on here and the possible effect it's having
on his health, you'll know what I mean.

Give it a try, you might enjoy the silence.
