I just arrived back in the UK a couple of days ago, having been living abroad for a few years.
Self-isolating for 2 weeks is giving me an opportunity to reacquaint with the delights of British television, and this post is just to direct folk towards Jamie Oliver's show on Channel 4, weekdays at 5.30pm. I love this guy, terrific genuine warm personality, and great simple and tasty recipes for families stuck at home. Highly recommended!

You'll be watching him thinking "oh he's alright, why don't I watch this" then he'll go completely over the top whilst opening a bag of pasta or dancing whilst tossing something in a pan which immediately makes me think "what an absolute ****" and turn it off.

BTW, he clawed back all his investment 6 months prior to his restaurant chain folding. Funny that.
Then there's him wanting an £80k attendance fee to promote the local secondary school's drive on healthy eating.

I would love it to be true.

I've a couple of his books. Some decent recipes and they are easy to follow. I've never been keen on him as a TV personality and it's years since I watched him on TV. Hairy Bikers - they come across as a great bunch of lads.

Lots of small suppliers went under when his Jamie restaurants went bust.
He could have paid them out but refused to saying the suppliers were owed by his now defunct businesses
As a Food teacher I have to agree making meals from Jamies 15 min or 30 min cook books is impossible

I enjoyed a good deal of schadenfreude when, after telling people they could make healthy pasta dishes for cheap, they then refused to pay through the nose for pretty much the same shite in his eateries.

Having also heard how his business tends to fail to deal with toxic bullying kitchen environments, i'll shed no tears over his failures.
