"If capitalism is so great, why does it need to be bailed out by socialism every ten years?"

Under capitalism, man exploits man

Under socialism, its precisely the opposite.

You can call the ends of the spectrum whatever you want, but as always you want to be in the middle ground.

It's impossible in this country though, because we are rammed with want for everything, greedy selfish ba*stards.

Where money and fame is seen as success.

BOT is spot on. Both extremes are abhorrent. The capitalism we have now has nothing to do with good business it is purely about greed. Socialism doesn’t work because there is no incentive to work so the lazy sit on their arse and expect the country to look after them.
There is no place for either in modern society. Balance is the only way.

What is the opposite of man exploits man? You've said this before and it meant no sense then either, because the opposite is either 'woman exploits woman' or 'man doesn't exploit man'.

The opposite of "man exploits man" is "man exploits man". The point being that both systems have the same effect.

Back in the early nineties, I was in my early thirties and lived for a few years in Holland. There I met and befriended several Polish folk who were there mainly for the fruit- and flower picking yet stayed almost the whole year round. I was twice invited to Poland for Christmas and New Year, and whilst there went to visit the elderly parents of one lad who couldn't afford to travel home himself.

I ended up going several times to see these lovely, intelligent people, and was treated to food, a beer, one or two vodkas and heavy thrashings on the chessboard except for the first time when Kryzstof's father let me win just for the sake of good manners.

Conversation (he speaking excellent English) one day turned to politics, and the old man due to his country's problematic history with Communism expressed his respect rather for the US than for Russia, and by extension for capitalism itself.

I disagreed; opining that neither system was ideal and that in extreme forms each was as bad as the other. The older man smiled and conceded that perhaps I had a point. 'But tell me, then,' he said, 'Where is there good politics?'

To which, and to his delighted laughter, I replied, 'Well, maybe somewhere on the planet there's an island upon which one man lives alone. There would be such an example!'

“Precisely the reverse” would be clearer
